Now researchers have looked at textual accounts, geological records and astronomical data to find the most likely date for Jesus's death.

Herod the Great, who died in 4 BC, is featured prominantly in the Bible account of Jesus birth. Therefore Jesus was born in 4 BC or earlier. Since Jesus was 30 when he started His ministry and His ministry was approximately three years, Jesus death was earlier than 33 AD.

Herod ordered the deaths of all young males.
What year of his reign did that happen?


Exactly.

The verifiable, the date of his death, beats out the unverifiable. Don't really understand how that effects the clash between traditional and historical dating.

Funny to see the deniers try to sway the topic away from Archaeological Evidence of a Biblical event.

I can't believe you can easily write off the total science which proves mankind originated about 65,000,000 years ago as burrowing animals. I can't believe anyone in their right mind believes a load of schit like the bible. For instance....early man who wrote the bible had his head up his ass so far that these death penalties for particular sins prevailed

These violations are so many and so circumstantial that some holy judges could charge anyone they chose to do away with and there's no way that individual could defend theirself.
