My shore has a very narrow channel that you need to sail down and the only way to do it is to line up two objects on the shore and keep them in line. If you don't you will hit the reefs and take the bottom of your boat out.

Under International law so much of the sea bed does, and Israel can impose limits on who crosses that part of the sea bed. So if a boat from gaza strays into Israeli territory then they are within their rights to sink that boat.
