Gaza gov’t launches fundraising campaign for Somalia

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian government in Gaza has launched a fundraising campaign to collect money to extend relief material to drought-stricken Somalia.

The ministry of endowment launched the two-week campaign on 12/8 and collected around 132000 dollars.

It asked preachers to call for donations to help save the people of Somalia, who suffer from starvation, and to remind of the fact that hundreds of children and old people were killed as a result of the famine.

Gaza gov

LOL, your losing it PF! Your whole claim (like that of the disingenious Leftist Palestinian supporters) is that Gaza is a prison, people are starving in the street! Yet now you claim this country under make believe dire straits is donating money to other countries!

Which is it? Are the a country that able to donate money or are they starving in the street? It can't be both way douche bag!

Yes you can. Ask a homeless man outside a supermarket why he is hungry. I mean look at all that food.

Arabs are lazy.

PF, people in Gaza are well fed by our UN dollars.

That is why aid is not the issue.

Even other Arabs know the Pestilinians are excrement.

Wall Street Journal..."The Arab World's Dirty Secret".
As Israelis and Palestinians prepare to visit Washington next week to begin direct peace talks, it's worth recalling what refugees the Palestinians are—in Arab countries.

Last week, Lebanon's parliament amended a clause in a 1946 law that had been used to bar the 400,000 Palestinians living in the country from taking any but the most menial jobs. "I was born in Lebanon and I have never known Palestine," the AP quoted one 45-year-old Palestinian who works as a cab driver. "We want to live like Lebanese. We are human beings and we need civil rights."

The dirty little secret of the Arab world is that it has consistently treated Palestinians living in its midst with contempt and often violence. In 1970, Jordan expelled thousands of Palestinian militants after Yasser Arafat attempted a coup against King Hussein. In 1991, Kuwait expelled some 400,000 Palestinians working in the country as punishment for Arafat's support for Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War.

For six decades, Palestinians have been forced by Arab governments to live in often squalid conditions so that they could serve as propaganda tools against Israel, even as millions of refugees elsewhere have been repatriated and absorbed by their host countries. This month's vote still falls short of giving Palestinian Lebanese the rights they deserve, including citizenship. But it's a reminder of the cynicism of so much Arab pro-Palestinian propaganda, and the credulity of those who fall for it.

The good people of GAZA have their own problems to deal with.

Kudos for those who can STILL find the heart to think about the sffering of others, of course.

No kudos to Muslims with no heart for the suffering brought about by Muslims in Darfur.

The genocide in Darfur has claimed 400,000 lives and displaced over 2,500,000 people. More than one hundred people continue to die each day; five thousand die every month.

Since February 2003, the Sudanese government in Khartoum and the government-sponsored Janjaweed militia have used rape, displacement, organized starvation, threats against aid workers and mass murder. Violence, disease, and displacement continue to kill thousands of innocent Darfurians every month.

Head of the Committee to Break the Siege Jamal Al-Khudary said "people may be astonished at our ability to collect donations from our people [in Gaza]; we tell them that this is a humanitarian campaign and our people love life and peace ?"

"We are here today supporting the victims of Haiti ? we feel for them the most because we were exposed to our own earthquake during Israel?s war on Gaza."

The Red Cross director was only able to accept financial donations as transferring goods out of the Strip is near impossible, Al-Khudary added.
