Gates finally removed his head from his ass and tells Obama what he had to. Too bad Obama doesn't have a clue and doesn't want to listen to his hand picked General on the ground and his Secretary of Defense.

The United States cannot wait for problems surrounding the legitimacy of the Afghan government to be resolved before making a decision on troops, U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said.

Gates, speaking to reporters on board a plane traveling to Tokyo, described the situation in Afghanistan as an evolutionary process that would not improve dramatically overnight, regardless of what course is taken following the country's flawed August election.

Gates must want to work with FoxNews like all the other traitors (Traitor is defined as anyone who disagrees with Obama)

That's why Obama is an empty vessel, with no clear convictions on anything, he is easily swayed from one direction to another, he is dust in the wind blowing this way and that way, with Pelosi and Reid in charge of what their puppet is doing. He will go down in history as being the worst and weakest President in history beating out Jimmy Carter for 1st place in that category.

Obama needs to consult with his brain trust: Al Franken, Joe Biden and David Letterman

How long Obama is going to wait to "make decision"?

I wouldn't be surprised if he wait till after the mid term election, because, everything he's doing has a trigger. Stimulus was timed, health care is going to be timed, he's waiting and people are dying there.

Also, does anyone knows whats the reason for replacing the general before McChrystal?

I don't get it...

If Obama said it several times that Afghanistan is war of necessity, then... what's deal with "rethinking the mission"? War is not going to just stop if he ignore it long enough. I don't think he doesn't know whats going on there, he has daily briefings, he should know.

Ooooh, Nobel.

Here's the deal.

Obama announced a grand strategy in March of 2009. He passed down new ROE guidelines to the ground commanders which basically tied their hands to their sides unless they were shot at first. His new plan has been nothing but a dismal failure....so what does he say? Basically he says we lost focus because of his domestic agenda. So what does he do now....after McChrystal says he needs more troops The Barry says we don't have a strategy that works and he has to think about it for a while.

In the mean time our troops are dying without knowing what they are doing over there. The Commander in Chief is akin to Icabod Crane...a headless horseman.

Every single day the president receives a briefing of what's going on. This means from day to day, there are no surprises, there are no new things to learn, because every day it is discussed and hashed out and debated, etc. McCrystal did not form his opinions in a vacuum. Surely all generals in Pentagon provided input and maintain some form of consensus. For Obama to pretend he does not have enough information would basically be saying he does not trust the information coming from his commanders.

Real question is, what is he waiting for? Decisions are required immediately because we are dealing with death and injury. If time is not a factor, then I'd like to hear the story that Obama tells the families of soldiers who are killed or injured and soldiers still in Afghanistan, why every one, including Obama is taking their sweet time to make decisions?

Do you remember this?

I am betting that he will not announce anything until after Tuesday's election in New Jersey, he would not want to anger any of those liberal voters out there. That's for sure, the governor race is much more important than the economy, Iraq, Afghanistan or anything else. But to hear the WH spin, it would not be a referendum on Obama should Corzine lose:lol::lol: it that's true what's he doing out there campaigning all weekend for Corzine?? I mean if it's not important, why is he there?? :cuckoo::cuckoo:
