Gates Foundation admits Common Core was a mistake

I guess I agree with you. Let the States decide. But for sure less testing and wasting our time with that. Put that money in the schools.
The only people deciding curriculum should be the state, the local school board, and the parents.

Not the federal government. Not corporations. Not wealthy idealistic billionaires who have no concept of the U.S. Constitution.
so the only people that should be deciding curriculum are the people deciding the curriculum.

good thinking, sparky
Common Core was designed by Bill Gates and is pushed by the federal government, jack-ass. The fact that you don't even know that much is fall down hilarious.

If local school boards were setting the curriculum genius, it wouldn't be common at all because each of them would have their own standards. :eusa_doh:
states and local scool boards do set their own curriculums. sorry if that blows your mind

We need to educate our kids for the jobs of tomorrow. Our educational system was not up to that task, and a radical overhaul was needed.

Agreed, but Comom Core is not the answer
it may not be the answer, but it was/is a step in the right direction.

It was a "step in the right direction".....why? Because you're so incapable of being an adult and making your own decisions that you need the federal government to do it for you?

Please articulate for us why this was a "step in the right direction". I noticed you conveniently left that out in your post.
because regardless of what some want us to believe kids everywhere are the same. a kid in minnesota has the same potential as a kid in alabama or vermont.

but some states wanted to make their sub-par school systems look good with low standards. that hurts the kids stuck in those mostly red state schools. common standards was a step forward towards correcting the problem

Common Core is neither state nor local school board junior. Sorry if the truth is more difficult for you to swallow than your homosexual partners....

That has to be the dumbest "logic" in the history of mankind.

First of all, you liberals have spent decades preaching how everyone is "special" and "different". Now, when you're put on the spot and desperate to explain why you believe Common Core was (and I quote) "a step in the right direction" your best explanation is to claim everyone is suddenly the same?!? :lmao:

Second, what does that have to do with anything? There was no Common Core in 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, or 2000 and yet all of the same kids had all of the same potential back then as well. :cuckoo:

So basically, you can't explain why you support Common Core. You're just a good little mindless liberal minion soldier who will support anything that your liberal masters tell you too... :eusa_doh:

What business is that of yours? It doesn't bother me that blue states and cities (like Detroit) produce inept and nearly restarted students. It just increases my chances and my children's chances of landing good jobs over them. And I realize that no woman would ever mate with you so you won't have children, but don't worry about other people's children. That's none of your business. We'll all educate our own children, junior.

Basically what you're saying here is that you're one of those small, insignificant people in life who tries to compensate by putting your nose in other people's business and trying to control them? Got it....[/QUOTE]

wow. state and local school boards may choose common core, but they do choose on their own

Um....no. No they don't. The federal government forces it on them if they accept federal funds. No choice at all in the matter. And what school is going to turn down money to stand on principle? Especially since most schools are run by liberals and liberals are incredibly greedy.

you need to educate yourself, it's clear you have a lot of unfounded beliefs. the federal government has forced common core on no one.

It's equal parts tragic and hilarious to watch history prove conservatives right over and over and over. Republican's warned against Social Security in the 1930's - history has proven them right. Republican's warned against Medicare & Medicaid in the 1960's - history has proven them right. Republican's warned against Obamacare in 2010 - history has proven them right. What is scary is that with each unconstitutional idiot liberal socialist bill, the Republican warning is being proven correct sooner and sooner. It took about 50 years to be proven right on Social Security. It took about 30 years to be proven correct on Medicare & Medicaid. And it took less than 2 years to be proven correct on Obamacare. And during all of this of course, conservatives warned against Common Core....

Sound familiar?

After spending several billion dollars attempting to reform public education over nearly 20 years, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is saying that, oops, the job is harder than its leaders had thought.

Gates Foundation chief admits Common Core mistakes

Proven them right in what way? In the way that the right doesn't like it so they've proven right because they still don't like it.

That just shows us what "proof" means to the right.

Many on the right wanted common core. Now we have it and they don't want it. As far as social security...what has history proven about it?
