"Today in a show of defiance against Israel's occupation and announced settlement expansion in the E1 area between East Jerusalem and the West Bank, 250 Palestinians erected tents near the village of Za'I'm and announced the establishment of a new Palestinian village named Bab al-Shams (Gate of the Sun).

"Because this is our land and it is our right to inhabit it,' said a statement by the Popular Struggle Coordinating Committee (PSCC) who spearheaded the action, 'we will not remain silent as settlement expansion and confiscation of our land continues.'"

How long before the heroic Jews react in their traditional manner?
Depends on how you interpret the State of Palestine.

Good for them. Peaceful protesting is fine with me. However peace and Palestinians don't go hand in hand really

I hope Uncle George realizes the people were evicted from that tent village. The court is allowing the tents to remain for 6 days until a final decision is made. George must get his information and updates from Western Union.

"We have set up 20 tents, and have enough equipment to stay here for a long time,' said PSCC spokesperson Abir Kopty (a frequent contributor to this site) to the Agence France-Presse.

"Following the construction, the Israeli military promptly ordered the villagers to evacuate the camp and delivered an eviction notice.

"The Israeli military then returned several hours later to issue a second set of eviction documents, according to Tweets from activists present on the groud. However, Israel's High Court has already decided that the village cannot be evicted for the next six days, according to Bab al-Shams villagers."

Got any links, Hossie?

Thanks, T...How will you respond if Israel results to non-peaceful methods for dealing with these Palestinians?

What do you call "NON-PEACEFUL" ?? -----buildings are regularly "condemned"
in my city ----and destroyed ----peacefully. As to "DEMONSTRATIONS"
very frequenly large gatherings of people are dispersed by cops----for the sake
of all kinds of reasons----like "blocking traffic" ---or simply suspicion of illegal
activity ---like "drug dealing"------peacefully In some cases they become
NON PEACEFUL ----when the people asked to disperse do not------at that point
peace is aborted and sometimes people are arrested

"MORE CAMPS PLANNED

"Palestinian activists criticized the raid and promised more protest camps in areas designated by Israel for settlements.

"'The eviction and the exercise of force is another indication that Israel is defying the international consensus on the need to vacate occupied Palestinian land,' Palestinian government spokesman Nour Odeh said.'"

Not to be worried, Angus. Once the SC decides and removes the tents, any additional tents will be Caterpillarized post haste. Sorry 'bout that.

"For years, Israel froze building in E1, which currently houses only a police headquarters, after coming under pressure from former U.S. President George W. Bush.

"Netanyahu said Israel would build at E1 after the planning process was completed.

"'It is a gradual process, it will take time. It will not happen immediately, you understand our bureaucratic process ... We will complete the planning an there will be building there,' he told Army Radio."

In violation of international law, of course.
On Palestinian owned land (again)
Not that "chosen" people (or states) are bound by laws.

Not that ownership of land means anything to hasbara hacks.
Maybe you should slurp that kosher cum a little faster...

Georgie ---save the obscenities for the mosque where they belong

By "palestinian" I am assuming you are alluding to the recently
defined "palestinian" as an arab muslim who either once lived in
palestine/judea/israel or had a relative who did so. Are you sure that
the land upon which the "palestinians" erected tents-----OWNED that
land-----by OWNED I am referring to the process of obtaining 'land
that involves BUYING it as people bought land in that
area of the world-----for about the past four Millennia. Or are you
calling OWNED as do the young protestors in egypt OWN SPAIN?
or the muslims of INDIA own as in MUSLIM MUGHAL EMPIRE
ownership. In the 1800s the OTTOMANS began selling land
in their EMPIRE------largely because squatters using the land did
not want to pay taxes or rent Are you referring to land PURCHASED
by the tent dwellers or that was PURCHASED by their families in the
past? Contrary to popular islamo nazi propaganda----there are
RECORDS regarding actual LAND OWNERSHIP. Some land is
recorded as being OWNED by arab muslims

You're the prime obscenity on this board.
Whatever happened in Spain, India, or within the Ottoman Empire in times past doesn't affect Israel's policy of "creeping annexation" in Palestine. It's clear to any reasonable observer that Israel's policy of building Jew-only settlements on Palestinian owned land is the principal obstacle to any two state solution in the land between the River and the sea.

try again georgie-------you are acually insisting now-----that land purchased
by arabs---in that which is today ISRAEL----no longer belongs to them.

The land owned by the CATHOLIC CHURCH is not so owned either ---
--------gee.

just what is YOUR MAGIC YEAR ? tinnie cites 1922----
but unfortunately for YOUR model-----in 1922 ----jews were
still BUYING LAND ----in that area some people want to call
"palestine" You want to scratch 1922 and start some-
where else on the TIME-LINE?
