Gas Closing In On $100.00 A Barrel, Obama Becoming "The 15 Trillion Dollar Man".

God, and remember when we were all kids and gas was 50 or so cents a gallon? I can still remember when a barrel of crude was TEN DOLLARS !!!!

You must be a young'n. That was 1999. $10 crude and 50 cent gasoline. Yes - fitty cent. It may have said 98 cents at the pump but 48 cents of that was taxes.

Oh and please- call me Mr. H.

OK, I am keeping my age a secret, but will give u a clue, I can remember being at a friends beach house,and watching the news as they were going into a commercial, a caption came onto the screen, it read "75 CENTS A GALLON ??" ,,,it was as if we were headed for a national crisis.

Ok- that would by around the '73 "crisis". Yeah we just gradiated high school and had a big trip planned out west. We just about cancelled it when gas hit fitty cent LOL.

But do we really want $10 oil again? And fitty cent gas? The oil and gas industry would crash and burn, hundreds of thousands would lose their jobs, and exploration and production would grind to a standstill.

and we all have that "80 something" uncle,family friend or grandpa who often brings up "you know, I can remember when it cost $1.50 to fill up your tank". and, oh, I remember when it cost around 10.00 to fill up your grocery carriage and a home cost around $2000.00.

According to the US Debt Clock we are a week away from 100% debt to GDP ratio. Get ready for another credit downgrade.

We need Newt to come back & balance the budget!

LOL! If there was any way to get Bill Clinton back in the act...that's what I would vote for...

When Clinton proposed raising taxes on folks the Republicans cried, "The Economy Will Crash" "The Sky Will Fall"

22,000,000 new jobs later George W. Bush took over a balanced budget, surpluses projected all the way to the outyears, an unemployment rate of less than 5% and cut taxes for the wealthy, started two wars, killed the guy who years earlier had tried to kill his daddy, doubled the national debt, killed 4400 young American soldiers, wounded over 32,000 more and wrecked our economy. What great times we live in...

It was Newt's government shutdown that forced Clinton to sign Newt's balanced budget.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The gov't shutdown that cost the GOP the election?

I never saw where gas closed on friday, but it was too close to 100.00 a barrel for me. And how does Obama expect to win next year if gas is still around $3.00 a gallon? Blame it on Bush & Reagan?
