Gary Johnson's advice to Republicans

What part of "Pay to the order of GlaxoSmithKline" on a US Treasury check and funding it with a Chinese VISA card is tough to understand?

Face it. If PAYGO had not been allowed to expire and Bush and The Good Ol' Boys of the Class of '03 had been required to fund Medicare D, and that ginormous tax cut, and the waste of resources blowing shit up in Iraq with cuts in spending or new taxes elsewhere, America's house would be in order now.

Bush and the class of '03 opened up the flood-gates and instead of "changing the fundamental way Washington does business" Obama and the classes of '09 going forward are joyfully pissing in the pond and laughing all the way to the bank that services the campaign contribution account.

The difference between a Republican and a Democrat? 5 lbs. and a mustache.

Not true:

Typical group of future Democrats (everyone else):

 You have me laughing at the joke but far to many are still buying in to this kind of partisan bullshit and that's not funny.

:eusa_eh:

Quite the conundrum.

Even though I thought the pictures were funny, the racial make-up of the Republican Party isn't. From Gallup, notice only 2% are black and 4% other. Among the Hispanics, how many of those are actually white? Add in a plus or minus and the number of whites could actually be GREATER than 90%.

When people say, "Oh, but the Democratic Party is 65% white. A "thinking" person will notice the divisions in that 65% white. The gays, the feminists, scientists, college professors, teachers, poor white, educated whites, uneducated whites, Muslim whites, the vast majority of Hispanic whites, liberals, conservatives and so on ---> and that's just among the whites. All with a seperate agenda working together to form a single party. Anyone who says a political party with this many sharply defined divisions all follow the same agenda is either too indoctrinated to see the truth or is just plain stupid. What else could it be?

I don't like the GOP, but Medicare Part D is tremendously helpful to patients.

Most people simply can't afford their medications.

The "Big Pharma" conspiracy theories are a little bit silly. Pharmaceutical companies are a little bit like defense companies. Everyone loves to hate them, but a pragmatic person realizes they are needed.

I said the concept was good, not necessarily how it was funded.

Absolutely. People over 65 should not have to worry about paying for medicine. Viagra... fuck that, make it buyers choice, buyers cost, but medicine.... Yeah medicine needs to be available to all who truly need it.

The worse part about needed programs like that being answered with bullshit like Medicare Part D is the public backlash about helping folks instead of backlashing about profiting from helping folks.

Paperwork and time on hold is NOT something to look forward as a retirement game.

We need a system that takes our money while we're young, pretty and on the job and then pays for the pills, potions & poignant medical advice we inevitably start requiring as the golden years advance on us.

This bullshit of private insurance for the young and public insurance for the old ain't working any better than the fucked up tax code.

Big Pharma isn't really interested in developing new things to help people, they're just interested in more money.

Have you ever listened to the drugs they hawk on tv? Most of them have side effects that are worse than the sickness itself!

Good research but I think the race issue is the last one that the republican faithful should be charged with, the fact that it 'could' stick notwithstanding. There's still too many of those poor deluded chaps that think "Trickle Down" creates jobs.

Pick your battles, brother Dean.

If you are gonna go after Obamacare, then you should also fervently go after the gigantic entitlement (to big Pharma) that you passed under Bush in 2003, called Medicare Part D.

Its not about consistency or principles, is it?

Stop the government monopoly of Big Pharma and let them compete in the market. There is no need for an artificial monopoly and huge economics rents.
