Gallup Daily: Obama 49%, McCain 40%

Americans obviously were reassured by the great perfoprmance Obama put on for them on the world stage. He truely looked presidential. More Americans are now sure he represents something that will make America's image look better in the world.

He represents something that will make America's image look better in the world ?

What kind of double speak is that? Exactly WHAT does he represent and WHAT will he DO to make all our little foreign friends happier?

July 26, 1988. Gallup Poll. Dukakis by 17.

The point being, a poll this early on isn't worth the time it took to prepare it.

Obama needs to keep his eye on the goal and not get distracted by meaningless numbers.

How many times have the polls said one thing all along, and the Election results ended saying something totally different.

Do not get to wrapped up in polls.

I'd have to guess that Obama only being up 9 right now does not bode well for his candidacy.

You are the reason why Obama has already secured victory. When people notice that the only bashers of Obama are the extremist like yourself, they will sympathize with Barack and make him the new leader of the free world.

Barack Obama '08!!!

Wasn't Newsweek calling a 16 point lead just 3 or 4 weeks ago, while other polls had him only leading by 3 to 4 points?

The polls will go up and down, the only poll that matters is the one in November.

extremist? so that's what you're counting on, eh...?

the "extremist" opposition to obama's righteous campaign...?

the sympathy vote...?

No, we are counting on the good sense of the American people.

Although the polls show that the race is split.

Americans under 55 like Obama. Americans over 55 like McCain.

i just read that you're going to be "double nickles" in november, so you must be really torn, eh?

You're the first person on this board to disagree with my view of that. I've repeatedly been stating that the racist, hateful, and outlandish smears on Obama will only make him more favorable. His poll numbers continue to rise, meanwhile the smear attacks are growing in numbers.

He was likely going to win anyway, but what I have been saying is that he will secure the White House if all the right can bring is smears from their bigoted extremists.

yeah, well, there's a first for everything...let's just say, i have more faith than that...in my fellow americans and in my fellow man...

how clever... :clap2:

Did you expect anything else? I could say the sky is blue and you would ask for a link.

face it! there are rational people, good people, smart people, americans all, who will choose not to vote for obama for legitimate reasons, having nothing to do with race or hatred, and to suggest otherwise is bogus...frankly, the fact that his campaign is using that angle disgusts me.
Face it? OMG, that thought has never ever crossed my mind. lol. Get real. The only Obama smears are coming from the extremists. The people you described are not posting up signs of Obama as a monkey. They are not calling him a secret Muslim. They are not calling him a Socialist. The loudest voices are usually the most ignorant. All we are seeing in the media is the loudest GOP voices making the attacks. McCain cannot challenge Obama on foreign or domestic policy. He sides with bush most of the time, and bush is wrong nearly all of the time.
