Ask the caller what the maximum is you can donate. Then ask them to hold on a moment while you get your info. then set the phone down and go do whatever you were doing when they interupted your life. Hopefully, they'll sit there patiently for a good long length of time wasting their's when they coulda been doing other calls.

If getting on a no-call list is a chore, turn lemons into lemonade and mess with them.

This is also a great way to deal with thumpers at the front door. Just ask them to wait for a moment, close the door and go on about your day.

Thumpers are the same as telemarketers - just selling a product. If any of them are rude enough to call or come to my door, I can be just as rude in return.
