The French have used the bogus man-made global warming crisis as an excuse to raise fuel taxes and the poor folks are justifiably pissed off. They've been rioting for 2 weeks now.

IMO, most people don't really listen to what libs say, because they know that it is mostly bullshit.


BUT, the lefties are serious about the Green Shit and the voters should have given some thought to what happens when we try to reduce energy usage.


It's not going to be their socialist masters that freeze to death in the winter, or die of heat stroke in the summer.

One shouldn't resort to this type of violence, even if they don't like the weak leadership he offers.

Going through the various conversion factors, the French NOW pay US$5.54 per gallon of high-test (their cars generally won't run properly on 87 Octane). The fuel itself costs no more in France than it does here, but the taxes are higher.

If Macron was REALLY interested in reducing fuel consumption, he would make a deal with the Frog people: I want gasoline and Diesel consumption reduced by 10% (or whatever percentage he wants) VOLUNTARILY. Y'all have six months to achieve this goal, OTHERWISE, we will impose a surtax on motor fuels.

This would give the People the ability to avoid the tax, if reasonably possible, and would end the riots immediately.

But like most Leftists, Macron is lying. It's about getting more money to fund the Welfare State, not CO2.

The French are happily paying 60 %++ income taxes every year. What is a little fuel tax then? They will get used to it. In fact, they will get used to not having a car at all. Hehe.

The French government showed everyone that raising the price of gasoline is an UNACCEPTABLE method of dealing with "climate change".

The libs should really be working on another scheme to deal with this alleged problem, one which won't cost the people any more money or hassle.
