If you have no idea what the difference is in free speech and active ESPIONAGE by a uniformed member of the armed services then you are an idiot.

I have mixed feelings about the Manning thing.

For one thing, most of what he exposed had nothing to do with senstive operations. It was just stuff the Army found embarrassing.

But he was in violation of disclosing classified information. He was aware of the rules and broke them.

If you are willing to break a law to make a point, then you should be willing to bear the consequences.

The criminal U.S. government breaks the law, when the killing in Iraq, women and children?

What's your point here?

You don't like the killing? Or you don't like it when it is done by the US?

Because..Russia's hands in this capacity..are pretty dirty. Vlad.

The whole world does not like the U.S. in good agreement in the affairs of others. You lose when attacks Iran.

There is no mixed feelings to have. You have a duty as a military member. As a civilian, it is an entirely different story but as long as you are willing to put on the uniform then you damn well better follow the basic rules. He had sensitive information and he let it out illegally. That is about as black and white as it gets.
