France: Terror Attack

It is sad to see France getting hit again.

AINT-QUENTIN FALLAVIER, FRANCE: A severed head covered in Arabic writing was found at a US gas company in southeast France on Friday, police sources and French media said, after two assailants rammed a car into the premises, exploding gas containers.

Speaking from a European Union summit in Brussels, French President Francois Hollande described it as a terrorist attack and said all measures would be taken to stop any future attacks on a country still reeling from Islamist assaults in January.

One suspect had been arrested and was already known to French intelligence sources, Hollande said.

Two assailants and a car?

(CNN)French authorities detained the lone suspect in an attack on a factory Friday in which a large explosion was followed by the discovery of a severed head hanging from a fence.

Two people were hurt in the blast at the U.S.-owned factory near Lyon in southeastern France, the French President said.

On a day when terrorist attacks also took place on two other continents, French authorities were particularly alarmed -- especially after finding two banners or flags, inscribed with Islamic writing, hanging with the victim's head. A decapitated body was found in the suspect's van.

The attack at the factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) outside of Lyon, began in the morning when a delivery van entered the gates, said Paris Prosecutor François Molins, whose office handles anti-terrorism cases throughout France.

The van had been used to make deliveries there, and the driver was recognized as a delivery employee, so it was allowed through. (A van)

Security cameras lost sight of the van until seven minutes later, when the van is seen accelerating toward a warehouse containing canisters of acetone, liquid air and gas, Molins said. A minute later came an explosion so huge that it was heard two miles away, residents told CNN.

"There is no doubt that the intention was to provoke an attack, an explosion," French President François Hollande said.

Firefighters arrived five minutes later and soon found the suspect in the warehouse trying to open canisters of acetone, Molins said. They took him into custody.

The warehouse was damaged and the roof and back of the van were destroyed by the blast, he said. Inside the van, firefighters found a knife and decapitated body, which Molins said was that of a 54-year-old man who was in charge of the transport company where the suspect worked.

Authorities then discovered the victim's head hanging on the factory's fence with the flags.

looks like France is importing its 'Islamic' state terrorists . Maybe the French will smarten up eventually .

France has become like that... well, we live in fear, with the many aggressions, drivers who overthrow the people on the sidewalks, burglaries that continue to grow, armed robbery, etc. Now we can get beat up just because we look at someone in a way that does not suit him, and I'm not kidding, I already have seen. And everything that the government has thought to do as of 1st July, it is ban bluetooth kits in vehicles, there is not a small problem ?

think that's correct , MMIKE --- and France , England and a few other have nukes I think . Wonder if a goofy 'chowdry' style bloke will ever gain BIG political or BIG military power and then have charge of those nukes .

PARIS: The gruesome "selfie" taken by a man who has confessed to beheading his boss during an attack on a gas factory in France was sent to Syria, sources close to the investigation said Sunday.

The news emerged as Yassin Salhi, 35, was being transferred from France's second city of Lyon to Paris for questioning by specialised anti-terrorist police. Salhi confessed to the grisly crime earlier Sunday and has also given "details about the circumstances" surrounding the killing, according to sources close to the investigation.

He left the police headquarters in Lyon in a van escorted by nine unmarked cars en route to the capital.

The convoy stopped briefly at Salhi's house to pick up his passport, where several masked officers bundled him into his apartment, covering his face with a white cloth and fitting him with a bulletproof vest.
