Fracking - something our kids will pay for

Yup, greedy humans, playing with fire. . . .

Fracking shakes the American west: ‘a millennium’s worth of earthquakes’

Nobody wants fracking in the uk apart from the bought and paid for tory government. Even tory members dont want it, at least on their estates. Does it get an easier ride in the US ?

The Brits can choose to be dumb enough to depend on the Russkies or LNG imports to maintain their energy supply. Us Americans are quite happy being the world's largest producer of natural gas, and will sell you folks some of it as well.Feel free to be as dependent upon us as you'd like, we'll happily take your money.

Renewable is the way forward. Fracking will destroy the planet.
There is no such thing as renewable, wind and solar increase the use of Coal, so you are increasing the use of Coal while claiming to save the world.

How about using 20 solar cars to drive to the supermarket, that makes a lot of sense? Yet you are building millions of giant power plants to give us a little energy?

Millions and millions and millions of power plants, forever burning and using coal to produce, more coal and more coal to make more Wind Turbines? There is no such thing as renewable power.

Of course you forget that Renewable Energy requires fracking, you actually advocate pumping arsenic into the earth. I know you are ignorant and never said that but you state we must use Renewable Energy and Renewable Energy relies on Fracking, it has for a very long time, 30 years? 40 years? 50 years?

Either way, it requires Oil to produce Wind Turbines and Solar Panels so the argument that fracking is wrong falls flat if we look at how hydrocarbons are used by Wind and Solar.

Humanity using every nuke they've got can't destroy the planet. What kind of alternate universe do you live in? You didn't even know hydraulic fracturing existed until someone sold the idea to you in the past 5 years or so, and after you pissed your pants about it, and knowing nothing factual in nature on the topic, decided you needed a way to make everyone else piss their pants so you wouldn't be the only one who fell for the nonsense you were sold? It had been happening for half a century before you found out about it, what makes it so important to you now, considering how invisible it was to you before?

Fracking and drilling have slowed down in the US due to the severe price drop in oil.

renewables make the rich richer, who makes money when you build 10,000,000 wind turbines to power a few homes?

Lets see, 10,000,000 MW turbines, 40% utilization on any given day, so a net 4,000,000 going 24/7. Each putting out perhaps 6 million kWh/year.

How much electricity can one wind turbine generate? - GWECGWEC

So each turbine can power 150 homes or a year, then 4,000,000 net turbines can power 600,000,000 homes a year.

Twice as many homes as there are people in the United States.

"A few homes?" indeed.

So, "a few homes" can be every home in the US. And then with all the surplus power we'll power all homes in Canada and Mexico as well just because...well....we can.

40% Utilization? Okay lets say that is right, divided by the capacity factor of 32.7% (a little high but we will take the manufacturers numbers). That drops it down to less than 200,000,000 homes, and let us not forget the 50% power loss suffered transmitting the power, so now we are down to less than a 100,000,000 million homes.

Now we must consider thee most extensive use of energy, pumping water. Where will you get the power to pump water?

If we need water before Television our homes will not have any power, all those Wind Turbines will be devoted to TRYING to pump water.

So yes, at best, a few homes.

The Koch Brothers' Dirty War on Solar Power

One might imagine that there are vested interests involved in blocking clean energy.
