Tombstone sucks, froggy.

The Unforgiven
Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Once Upon a Time In The West
High Plains Drifter
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Pale Rider (you can tell I like Eastwood)
Dances With Wolves
Jeremiah Johnson
Little Big Man
Paint You Wagon (shut up!)
Rooster Cogburn
3:10 to Yuma (the original)
Inglourious Basterds (although a WWII movie, is done in a Sergio Leone style)
The Three Amigos
Cat Ballou (I said shut up!)
McClintock!
Rio Bravo
Young Guns (its okay...)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Last of the Mohicans (not technically a Western, but sorta)
Lonesome Dove (great book, pretty good made-for tv-movie series)

There's so many that are sooo much better than Tombstone.

Any western with the "Duke" and any western with Clint Eastwood. Maybe they could start up one of those cable channels with nothing on but westerns from both of these guys. I'd rather watch that then the Home Shopping Network.

yea but it the best remake of it what about waterhole#3 or catbaloo

Not huge on westerns, but if i had to pick three:

Good, the bad and the ugly...one of the best movies ever made

Shane...Best pure western ever, great ending

The Searchers...Wayne finally proves he can act

Anybody seen Seraphim Falls. A great modern Western: Liam Neeson, Pierce Brosnan, and Angelica Huston.

The preview sucks, but the movie is surprisingly well done and beautifully shot.

The Unforgiven

What!!!!! The Unforgiven is soo great and The Quick and The Dead is only worth mentioning because of Gene Hackman. Look, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyV7PDXTVQ0]YouTube - UNFORGIVEN Final scene[/ame]

William Munny hasn't drank in years, and the last scene starts with him tossing a whiskey bottle onto the muddy street as he walks into town to kill Gene Hackmen. This scene is one of the best in cinema history, let alone among Westerns.

Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Once Upon a Time In The West
High Plains Drifter
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Pale Rider (you can tell I like Eastwood)

way too much eastwood...way too much

No such thing.

Dances With Wolves

cosnter was good in this and silverado

Silverado was good. Kevin Klein was great and I wish he'd never retired. But, I wouldn't want to work either, if I were married to Pheobe Cates! Costner sucks in front of the camera.

Jeremiah Johnson

didnt care for at all

Are you kiddin' me! Bones... I just don't know what to say to that...

Little Big Man

good movie

Yeah, the old indian that played Hoffman's grandfather in the movie, also appears in The Outlaw Joseywales in pretty much the same capacity: a hilarious wise ass wise man. I think he was in another movie, but I can't remember with certainty.

Paint Your Wagon (shut up!)

hey i like paint your wagon..nice music

Yeah, Clint can't sing, but surprisingly Lee Marvin can, with that deep, rumbly voice. And he's great in his part of the old, drunken miner. I lived in Leadville and it was pretty much the same kinda town as in this movie.

Rooster Cogburn
3:10 to Yuma (the original)

you get points for the original

Gregory Peck was a badass.

Inglourious Basterds (although a WWII movie, is done in a Sergio Leone style)

havent see it...

It just came out a week ago. Tarantino's new film, with Brad Pitt.

The Three Amigos

omg that is just bad

Oh, come on! It's hilarious, its well shot, and its good despite being a comedy. Its done in a modern-Chaplin style!

Cat Ballou (I said shut up!)

who didnt like cat ballou

Punk ass kids from my generation that need the loud, over-the-top production values of modern Hollywood films which are all flash and no bang.

McClintock!
Rio Bravo
Young Guns (its okay...)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

hmm glitz western

What? Don't you like Robert Redford, or something!

Last of the Mohicans (not technically a Western, but sorta)
Lonesome Dove (great book, pretty good made-for tv-movie series)

the book kicked ass...did you read any of the others?

No, Lonesome Dove is the only Larry McMurtry novel I've ever read and I figured, like with most things, any follow up novels involving the same characters would only leave me feeling deflated and disappointed. I might read some of his other works, as long as they don't have to do with Lonesome Dove.

There's so many that are sooo much better than Tombstone.

val was just plain good..and women of my generation just have thing for russell....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Alright, Val Kilmer was cool as Doc Holiday, but the montages in that movie suck! And the thing is, I love Kurt Russel, Val Kilmer, and Sam Elliot. I just think that the movie is lowsy. It lacks substance and true artistry. Talk about a glitz western!

Here's a favorite. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urnjRUVYRY8]YouTube - Hidalgo trailer[/ame]

The HBO series Deadwood.

Best western ever.
