Fourteen Characteristics of Fascism...

You are completely off base. The first is NOT how the US has acted. We asked the UN to enforce its resolutions and waited YEARS, to no avial.

The second is specious - there are no international law enforcement and intelligence agencies. There is no World Government.

The third we have done for decades. The US is the most generous world power in the history of human kind. But in the end, each country is sovereign. If it wishes to bite us when we have offered aid and friendship, then it is responsible for the consequences.

We only gave the appearance of allowing the UN to enforce its mandates. Dubbyuh's had a woody for Saddam from day one of his administration.

"International" as in those of other countries.

No, we have not. It again boils down to appearance. Little of the US foreign aid ever made it down to the local level where it would have done the most good. The vast bulk of it went into the pockets of tin-horn dictators and their syncophants. Reza Palahvi, Augusto Pinochet, Juan Batista, Saddam Hussein, just to name a few.

How specifically did we give the appearance of allowing the UN to enforce its mandates?

Well, Saddam has been in violation of the terms of the cease fire from Desert Storm since the beginning of the Bush Administration, if that's what you're talking about.

See, this word gets confusing since many feel a coalition is not international if France is not involved.

And yes, tin pot dictators perpetrate many abuses on their citizens, embezzling aid being merely the tip of the iceberg. Damn us for trying, right?

This is more and more looking like not just Bush thing as far as info goes. Remember, Saddam was violating UN mandates long before W came along. He just decided to do something about it.

and how timely it is that France is now implicated in taking deals from Iraq to create opposition

In violation of international law and 228 years of not engaging in wars of aggression against foreign powers.

France is a world power wannabe.

We all know this. What I want to know is how you explain your poor performance in this thread?

Could it be because you're a dyed in the wool, run from reality, tree-hugging, communistical, multicultural dingaling?

interesting theory, ya think

I still don't no what you're getting at in that post Bully, sracasm maybe?

Can't run from reality...it ALWAYS catches up and bites you on the ass. Something you haven't realized yet.

Tree-Hugger...? No, just favor balance to ill-considered, poorly concieved and rapacious environmental and economic policy.

Communistic...? Nah, Marx and Engles were a couple of upper-class twits.

And what's wrong with multi-culturalism? Monoculture is incredibly tedious, boring and banal. So much so that it eventually shrivels up and dies.

In violation of international law and more than 200 years of America not involving itself in foreign wars of aggression...how much clearer do you want it?

Gosh, I thought it was because Saddam was the one in violation of 12 or so international resolutions and Bush finall decided to do something about it.

As for the 200 years of America not involving itself in foreign wars of aggression. IF that's true, right or wrong, there's a first time for everything. I'm just not clear on what makes this the first. This is warranted aggression against one small group of people, Saddam and those aiding him. I don't see the problem in getting aggressive w/ them.
