Former Wisconsin Attorney Gen: Gov. Walker Violated Ethics, Election and Labor Laws

When Gov. Scott Walker discussed strategies to lay off state employees for political purposes, to coordinate supposedly “independent” political expenditures to aid legislators who support his budget repair bill, and to place agent provocateurs on the streets of Madison in order to disrupt peaceful demonstrations, he engaged in what a former attorney general of Wisconsin says could turn out to be serious ethics, election law and labor violations.

Every few years Republicans get elected to positions of power in America. Usually because democrats are pissed off, fed up, and stay home. It's amazing how rapidly Republicans remind all of us why they should NEVER be placed into positions of power and influence. Wonder how many Wisconsinites would like a do-over of the last election.

Unfortunately it's going to get a lot worse for them before they get a chance to remedy their mistake. The reality is that what is occurring in their state is not about public employees, their unions or their budget. What is at stake here is the future of their public utilities. The fundamental lesson that so many people forget every few years is that to the Republican leadership it is not about the issues they create. It is about their hidden agenda. Which in the modern era usually involves looting public treasuries and assets.

The Former Democrat AG, Appointed by A Democrat is saying this?

Wow it must be true.

How many threads do we need on this? It's been discussed for fucking pages.... but, as always, a few posters seem incapable of using the 'search' function.

This is the same guy who started most of those threads, he doesn't need to use the search function, he just needs to use his brain, which he obviously cannot do.

All the Way to Wall Street?

"Nobody goes to jail.

"This is the mantra of the financial-crisis era, one that saw virtually every major bank and financial company on Wall Street embroiled in obscene criminal scandals that impoverished millions and collectively destroyed hundreds of billions, in fact, trillions of dollars of the world's wealth — and nobody went to jail.

"Nobody, that is, except Bernie Madoff, a flamboyant and pathological celebrity con artist, whose victims happened to be other rich and famous people."

Lead like Dubya (and Hank)

"(Former Attorney General Peg) Lautenschlager noted a body of labor law that prevents employers from using threats of layoffs as a negotiating tactic with unionized workers.

"'He(Walker) essentially parallels what he’s going to do to organized labor with what Ronald Reagan did to the air traffic controllers,' said Lautenschlager, referencing the former president’s firing of striking controllers in 1981.

“'By doing that at this time, when the contracts for state employees are still in effect, it looks as if he’s signaling a willingness to commit an unfair labor practice violation by refusing to negotiate.'”

Here it is people, dawg face said it. The issue ain't about unions or teachers or ethics or the Constitution. It's about ....waah....waah...losing the mid term election by such an embarrassing margin.

The Wisconsin Governor may now have an interesting time convincing the courts that he has been granted the constitutional power to pick and choose which public service employees have/have not the right to organize and negotiate with the state government.

I'm sure the courts will look favorably on Governor Walker's own admission that he had considered placing agitators among the protestors to create an incident.

Its about time to start impeachment hearings - and that's just for starters!
