Forget Lobster for dinner, try $150k spent on clothes!

Sorry buddy, I heard the whole story and you're misleading us. He said he would discuss. He wrote below his YES some stipulations. McCain would have to agree and be fair, which we know he wouldn't have. We know Swift Boaters would have helped McCain too. So fuck that. Obama is raising money STILL! Why opt for public financing. The deal wasn't struck, deal with that. It's not like Obama broke the law. No, that was McCain:

Obama opted out of Public Financing, McCain Broke the LAW

my son when he was like 12 or so wanted a pair of 160 buck shoes... i told him if the damn shoes gave him a blow job each day they still werent worth it. wanna shock a 12 yr old let him hear his mom say blow job....

but later...what i did....if he wanted a pair of 60 buck jeans i would give him what i would pay normally and he had to make up the rest. i think most parents want to give their kids the best they can but you have to draw a line somewhere.....i figured that line got drawn when he begin to use "only" in front of sums of money...as in...its only 60 bucks.

What Obama said was that he would accept public funding IF AN AGREEMENT WAS REACHED WITH HIS OPPONENT.

But McCain was the one who signed papers taking a loan based on his COMMITTMENT to accept public funding.

One was just "oh wouldn't it be nice"...the other may have broken the law, IMO.

The repubs are just het up over this because for the first time, they aren't the ones slamming the other side moneywise.

yeah, i guess when he said he'd take public financing and then didn't, that wasn't reneging. sure. i get it now.

the sooner people realize that obama is just another politician, and nothing more than that and behaves as such, the less disappointed they'll be.

i get it now.

Then YES, we agree.

And anyways, this is another lame issue you right wingers bring up that no one gives a rats ass about. Seriously, petty and pathetic. I love it that this is the best you got.

Just like the filabuster. You right wingers wanted to introduce the nuclear option and end filabusters when it was the dems doing it to your bad bills. But now you in the minority are filabustering good proposals and you are doing it more than the democrats did it to you back when you ran congress.

Do you not get that? Do you not see your hypocricy?

Same for talking about Michelle ordering lobster and now Palin is spending $75K on outfits? Elitest my ass Del. It must be short for Delusional.

i didn't bring it up, nut job. someone else did. i guess it's expecting too much for a politician of any stripe to tell the truth or give a straight yes or no answer. nixon's press secretary had a phrase for these kind of inconvenient occurrences. he'd just say "the statement is inoperative."

the number of filibusters in this session of congress is almost exactly the same as the number offillibusters when the dems were in the minority, and what "good" proposals are you talking about?

Statistics on Cloture Motions - 93rd-110th Congresses - Learning About Filibuster

if michelle obama ate lobster 3 times a day and had it delivered on jewel encrusted platinum plates, i still wouldn't give a flying fuck.

do you get it yet, dumbfuck or should i scan some crayon drawings and post them for you?

and yet somehow the world kept turning without a formal expression of the congress's disapproval of the war in iraq. i'm stunned.

the only thing i see here as remotely important is the Webb amendment, otherwise, BFD.

notice the recurring phrase "and other purposes"
what could those possibly be? maybe a bridge to nowhere or two, who knows?

you realize you are the exception, not the rule on the right, don't you del? :eusa_shhh:

I really think the problem the right has with Obama opting out of public financing is that in 2000 and 2004 the GOP was able to outspend the DNC by a wide margin. They had the money to blanket the country with negative ads and it seemingly worked out well for them. This time they are being outspend by a margin of 3 to 1 (larger in same areas) and now they see what it's like to be on the receiving end of a gang bang of endless funding.

It's not the DNC that is raising this money, it's the Obama campaign itself. If Obama had opted to use public finance the McCain campaign might've been limited to the amount allotted by that agreement but the RNC would've used all their resources as would various 527 groups and Obama wouldn't have had a chance in hell of competing head to head.

I think the reason there aren't as many 527 groups opertaing against Obama is because he has the resources to respond immediately. Look at what happened with the Ayers stuff. They hit back immediately with the Keating 5 scandal that McCain was involved in.

Obama changed the playbook on this by opting out of public financing and they are lost as to how to handle it.

It's pretty amusing IMO.

on topic, I wonder what the RNC/McCain camp would have to say if it were revealed that the DNC paid for Michelle Obama to have her wardrobe updated for the campaign to the tune of $150K :eusa_eh:

Ha! I love how the ultimate pork project is a GOP project.

How's Ted Steven's doing Del? I think the verdict comes in today. GUILTY!!!

PS. If these aren't important, then why did the GOP filabuster them? Do you even understand what a filabuster is? Sounds like the GOP REALLY didn't want these things to come up for an up or down vote.

That's all we want del. Up or DOWN. LOL. Learn the game or get off the court bitch.

I'm curious where the outrage is from the Cons on this board at this gross elite behavior?

It's one thing to treat yourself to a nice dinner that might've cost upwards of $400 (which Michelle didn't even do) and it's quite another to spend $150,000 on clothing for yourself and your children in order to present a certain image.

The outrage over the lobster and caviar was ridiculous. If they aren't hypocrites they will condemn this wasteful spending and be equally outraged against their own party.

You mean that you haven't already convincingly proven that Republicans are hypocrites ?

you're confusing utility with pork.
just because x number of people use it, doesn't mean it's not pork, moron. it was budgeted at 3 billion dollars and yet somehow the cost is now at $15B+ and rising and it leaks.
your mistake is thinking that there's any appreciable difference between a dem politician and a repub politician.
there isn't.

i'll see if i can get those crayon drawings up.
