"Foreign policy experience"

Personally I suspect that Iran should be the USA's number one ally in the region.

I think we've made a terrible blunder (starting in about 1954) by alienating that nation.

Most of the people alive in Iran today do not remember the Shah, or Holmeinie, either.

The people are, I think, ready to rachet down the war rhetoric if only the American warmongering nitwits wouldn't keep giving Iran's religious right more and more Amnerica is the great satan ammunition to beat up Iran's moderates.

Make me Secretary of State and I'm betting I could find a modus vivendi that Iran that would make that nation the sort of nation we were hoping we could make out of Iraq.

The Persians are NOT the Arabs, folks. There were, they are and they WILL be a modern nation probably much more a secular nation than any of our Arab allies, certainly more than Pakistan is now, if we but give them a chance to clear out the 14th century clerics which most of them (or so I am given to understand) really cannot forking STAND.
