foreclosure fraud whistleblower found dead

the sad thing is that every conservative here would have let these scumbags go because to them there is only one or two politicians who did anything wrong in the entire mortgage meltdown.

lol strong imagination if nothing else..........

Is it my imagination that you are trying to steer the discussion in the direction of Barney Franks and away from one of the most sordid episodes of the mortgage crisis?

she commits a crime, of her own volition.
has a moment of honesty
confesses what she has done
kills herself for whatever of a number of reasons.

and this is an excuse for more regulation?

man, you lefties won't be happy until we are a police state.

Oh really? Which is exactly why we are saying prosecute everyone who broke a law including the politicians.

Oversite of the industry would have kept this woman from being talked into cheating people and she would not be dead

It was a suicide or natural causes. Regulating wouldnt have prevented that.

do you think the stress of possibly going to prison may have contributed ?

It shouldn't.

one year, max, in minimum security is like going on a vacation to a place that sucks.

She could have been out in 4 months.

Yeah heaven forbid we talk about one of the people who caused the damn crisis.

If you think going to prison was too stressful and caused her death then you are arguing for less regulation.

Because regulation is what puts people in prison.

No, I have been around on discussion boards long enough to know the drill. A topic comes up on banking industry wrongdoing and in a flash some conservatives show up to tell us that Franks and Dodd single handedly caused the meltdown. I have to wonder just how bad the banking industry would have had to screw-up before conservatives turned their attention in that direction, not sure it is even possible for them to blame the banks for anything at all.

Business as usual, the only thing they did wrong was employ someone with a little ethics.

That "only thing they did wrong" is the entire problem with the economy as we know it.

A few people have been dishonest and corrupt and it's screwed up the rest of the economy. The unfortunate part is alot of those dishonest and corrupt people were elected officials who were charged with preventing this.

The only way to truely fix the economy is to eliminate dishonesty and corruption in our lives.

"A few people have been dishonest and corrupt and it's screwed up the rest of the economy"

I could go on and on but the point is made. It was more than just a few people, it was an epidemic.
Because of these actions, new regulations were imposed on banks, these regulations are regulations same regulations some people are against.

OK, I'm having a problem here. Someone that said banks were using robo signatures has died, either by natural causes or suicide. And this is somehow the Republicans fault???

Banks gave borrowers mortgage loans, they didn't pay those loans, the bank called in the loans aka foreclosed but somehow because a robo signature was used the borrower no longer has to pay the loan?? So the banks are the bad guys and again, this is the Republicans fault??

Fraud is already illegal. How much more regulation do we need than that? Why don't we get the executive branch out of the way and let the judicial branch do its job?
