It took a major drop in crude to do this and natural gas is selling for less than $10/BBL equivalent. The other wild card is that most fracking fields are deep enough that compressive and geo-thermal heating will not just run steam turbines but also lead to inexpensive recovery of oil and natural gas as a byproduct. The water can be obtained from roughly filtered flood waters.
So my question is whether there is any bottom for the energy market at this point?
