For discussion: Poverty is a Choice.

Let's cut every government agency in half. Do you think we would survive?

Probably better than we do now.

And in 8 years let's make senators and house members be part time for half the pay and senators don't live in Washington they attend meetings remotely.

We should triple the size of the House of Representatives and have them mostly work and vote from their home districts. They can have a quorum a few times a year in Washington for very vital issues, but that's it.

Republicans would like to remove welfare so people have no choice but to take the $6 hr job
and then encourage their kids to get an education so they don't have to do the same thing. Also, my nephew started at $6 but in 3 years was a manager making 20. $6 is just a start for a kid.

I 100% agree with you. Take any able bodied 18 year old. He can stay home with his parents and save up for school or a business. If you are worth anything you can eventually find a better job. You can move to another city where there are more jobs. You could join the military. Lots of options.

The people who complain the most are people with kids they can't afford. Who's fault is that they had kids they can't afford?

BS

IT takes money to get a college education in a high paying field(tech, computers, engineer, doctor, scientist)
It takes money to open up your own business
It takes years of skill to succeed in a profession and sometimes you just end up failing anyways.

To sit here and blame people for not making it in life isn't right.

How many Jobs Booms can we expect as an entitlement from the one percent?

According to the Congressional Budget Office, between 1979 and 2007 incomes of the top 1% of Americans grew by an average of 275%. During the same time period, the 60% of Americans in the middle of the income scale saw their income rise by 40%. From 1992-2007 the top 400 income earners in the U.S. saw their income increase 392% and their average tax rate reduced by 37%.[14] In 2009, the average income of the top 1% was $960,000 with a minimum income of $343,927.--https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wealth_in_the_United_States#Wealth_distribution

it is about socialism for the rich, and capitalism for the poor.

equality is a social concept not a capital concept; no wonder the right, never gets it.
