What I know for a fact is that here in the USA its SOCCER, because we have a game called Football.
And if Europe wants to get pissed off, they can fuck off.

If the countries of Europe love their national sport so much, that they want to bring it into a country the didn't develop the same sporting culture, and call it football no matter where it is they bring it to..
