Foodstamps Surge By Most In One Year To New All Time Record, In Delayed Release
Zero Hedge ^

While there had been speculation that the BLS may delay the release of its October nonfarm payroll number until after the election, it turned out there was no reason to worry. Perhaps this is because the number, while at stall speed, was not quite as horrible as some had expected (even if the change in average hourly earnings did tumble to new all time lows) and so boosted Obama's reelection chances. There was, however, another closely tracked number which perhaps is far more indicative of the economic "growth" in the past 4 years, which certainly had a delayed release. The number of course is that showing how many Americans are on foodstamps, and usually is released at the end of the month, or the first day or two of the next month. This time the USDA delayed its release nine days past the semi-official deadline, far past the election, and until Friday night to report August foodstamp data. One glance at the number reveals why: at 47.1 million, this was not only a new all time record, but the monthly increase of 420,947 from July was the biggest monthly increase in one year. One can see why a reported surge in foodstamps ahead of the elections is something the USDA, and the administration may not have been too keen on disclosing.

Goddamn Obama it's time to put these people back to work. Rebuild our energy grid, put them into college, restart moon to mars, pave all the streets or anything is better then this.

How many of them are regular Republican voters that Romney insulted with his 47% comment and either stayed home or voted for Obama?

That is just the tip of the iceberg. When the lame stream media steps up and starts to report things anti-Obama, we'll see the messiah for what he really is.

Sweet!

About as many as voted because Obama was going around the country to different rallies and referring to Republicans as "the enemy" in a time of war.

Politicians say stupid stuff from time to time. And it's usually picked up and interpreted in its worst light by adversaries who don't even have to change a single word.

:lmao:

You DO realize that most of the food stamp aid goes to red states, right?

And, as far as putting people back to work rebuilding the infrastructure (roads, electric grid, bridges, etc), you DO realize that is the main part of Obama's American Jobs Act that the GOP blocked, right?

This lame attempt to get a rise out of sane people is not working. It has not worked for 3 and a half years. It will not work over the next 5 years.

So.....what you are saying is that it doesn't matter....because Obama proposed it and your boys blocked it? Guess that's how it works....Obama proposes something, the GOP blocks it.....and you blame Obama for not doing anything.

Thank God the voters were smarter than you.

You do know what shovel ready means, right? It means that as soon as the companies can be hired (and there are many road construction companies that would jump at it), then you can identify where the problems are (and it's already been done, started after that first bridge collapse that killed 38 people a couple years back), and tell the construction companies to get to work.

Yeah.............those jobs ARE shovel ready.

There's a whole other thread on the red States getting the most help....and the synopsis from the hardcore righties is that the people in Blue States are parasitic leeches, and the people in red States are just victims of Obama.

The president is willing to do the above and more…

Unfortunately Congressional republican are opposed to such programs and are withholding funding accordingly.

Teddy Kennedy made Obama's Tuesday victory possible forty years ago when he pushed for stopping immigration into the United States from the European sources this country drew its founding stocks from and instead open our borders to those nationalities less self reliant and more dependent on government assistance. Who can resist the allure of "Free stuff"?

Obama knew exactly what he was doing from the moment he entered office January 20, 2009. He laid out his fiscal and political plan for us during his 1998 visit to Loyola University.
"Those people receiving welfare and other forms of government largesse, along with the working poor, constitute a critical mass that if manipulated properly, could lead to the installation of a liberal into office and maintain him there for a considerable time" Now "Slick willie" was pres at the time and "Slick Willie" was pretty much a Liberal through and through yet Obama used the word 'Liberal' as if Ronald Reagan or Barry Goldwater were in office. Why? Because he meant Communist instead of Liberal. Its gonna be Nero's "Bread and circuses" from here on out in order to maintain his appeal. And when he said "This will be my last campaign" he probably meant it, but I guarantee he has no intention on leaving office in 2016 either. He's going to have to go into overdrive removing any and all weapons from the peoples hands before that.

Didn't you get the memo? House Republicans refuse to pass any jobs bills.
