BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut — A man charged with killing another man with ax and eating body parts is set to return to a Connecticut courtroom this morning for a hearing on whether prosecutors have enough evidence to continue pursuing a murder charge.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled in Bridgeport Superior Court in the case of Tyree Smith, 35, a Florida resident who grew up in Ansonia, Connecticut.

Smith is charged with murdering Angel Gonzalez in Bridgeport on Dec. 15. Police say Smith ate one of Gonzalez's eyeballs and part of his brain. He was arrested in his hometown of Lynn Haven, Florida, in the Panhandle, in January.

Everytime I read one of these stories, I'm always thinking: What's going on in that guy's mind when he's eating it? What's going on in his mind when he's planning this? Some sick sick people out there.
