Flooding of Coast, Caused by Global Warming, Has Already Begun
NORFOLK, Va. — Huge vertical rulers are sprouting beside low spots in the streets here, so people can judge if the tidal floods that increasingly inundate their roads are too deep to drive through.

Five hundred miles down the Atlantic Coast, the only road to Tybee Island, Ga., is disappearing beneath the sea several times a year, cutting the town off from the mainland.

And another 500 miles on, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., increased tidal flooding is forcing the city to spend millions fixing battered roads and drains — and, at times, to send out giant vacuum trucks to suck saltwater off the streets.

... The inundation of the coast has begun. The sea has crept up to the point that a high tide and a brisk wind are all it takes to send water pouring into streets and homes.

Time to start considering moving the future infrastructure inland and building barriers. Maybe plan for at least 6 feet of sea level raise would be a good idea?

What's the difference between flooding caused by manmade global warming and flooding caused by natural global warming?

You missed a key point idiot. Most cars built today, passenger cars anyway are built lower to the ground and lighter for gas millage. A 2015 Prirus is lower and much lighter then a 63 Ford Galaxy.

A model "T" was built to drive through mud a foot deep. It was built to road conditions as where most of our roads. A Prirus in foot deep mud well its wheels do not even touch the ground.

A smart person builds a car for the road way. A fool builds one for the millage.

Twenty years ago, about 75 years after the last Model T was built, the idea that ocean flooding would make roads impassable on a regular basis in these coastal communities, would have been considered laughable. Sea level has risen. That is a fact. The cause is global warming. That is a fact. Trying to say otherwise is pure ignorance.

The mindless panic just never stops with you does it matthew? Living your life in such a state of hysterics must be absolutely exhausting. Had you bothered to take even a couple of minutes to learn something before giving in to your natural knee jerk reaction, you might have learned that the land itself in the Hampton Roads area is sinking at a rate of about 7 inches a century. The whole area is sitting right on the largest impact crater in the US. It is the sinking land that is creating the illusion of rapidly rising sea levels....not actual rapidly rising seas.

Get over it and get over your self you perpetually whining ninny. You know...some day you might actually have something important to say but no one will be willing to listen to you because you have lived your life in a state of self induced hysterics and have endeavored to spew at lest some panic stricken bullshit practically every day of your life.

So, all that global sea level data is actually based solely on the Hampton Roads area?

We did this one LAST month Matthew. I know you were here. I showed you the nearest 100 yr tide gauge record to Tydbee Island. Show me the ACCELERATING SLR in that chart please..

Land subsidence...

Why is it left wing loons never use common sense?

If you think the folks at CU Sea Level Research are unaware of the vertical movement of land (and ocean bottom) then you've made one of the most common mistakes deniers make: assuming your intelligence and knowledge are on a par with theirs.
