No, this is not an opinion poll. It is the AVERAGE of all opinion polls done on impeachment and it continues to be updated when each new poll on impeachment is released.
Impeachment and removal from office of a President is not the same as a court of law. There does NOT have to be an actual crime committed. But don't worry, Trump is guilty of many crimes.
FiveThirtyEight considers all polls and takes the average. The link in the initial post is the best place to go to gauge how the public feels about this whole process.

IMO the polls are trying to sway elected republicans to back or legitimize impeachment no different then how polls where used to make elected republicans validate the Muller SC investigation and promote Mueller as a "stand up guy" free of political bias having a distinguished career....funny how the same republicans also went out of their way to stand up for Sessions and Rosenstein but not Barr.

Impeachment does not take place in the Judicial branch of government. It takes place in the legislative branch of government. Its voted on by politicians who are elected by the people to their positions. There does not actually have to be a "crime" for impeachment and removal of the President from office to take place. Given those things, polling of the public is very relevant to the proceedings. That's why polls measuring public support for or against were taken during Nixon's Watergate and the Clinton impeachment drama. Public opinion does have an impact and polling is a way of measuring public opinion.

Polls measure public support for impeachment. Public opinion does have an impact on the decisions of elected officials.
As for as Presidential approval numbers go at the start of October at this time in their Presidency according to GALLUP figures: here is how those Presidents you list stood compared to Trump:
