RECOVERY is not going to happen anytime soon.

Our economy is changing too fast for us to expect it to return to what it once was.

It may get better, maybe much better some time in the medium term, one never knows.

But as to it ever going back to what it was in the 90s?

Hopefully NOT given that most of that economy was based on a BUBBLE.

My income has doubled since 2008 and I now own a home a new car and just started a new business venture..

Individual metrics are not a good measure, it is aggregated assessments that are a true gauge.. And the gauge shows that things are getting better, especially when you consider things like the housing market pop, EU crisis, and the whole republican obstructionism thing.

But, keep telling yourself everyone else and the indicators are wrong.

"Stopped a Depression" is not a recovery.

Here's what Obama has done:

US GDP growth is lower this year than it was last year. And last year was lower than the year before.

The jobs created are not even keeping up with the labor force growth:

The number of Americans whom the U.S. Department of Labor counted as “not in the civilian labor force” in August hit a record high of 88,921,000.

More than 40 months above 8 percent unemployment:

When Obama took office, there were 23 million Americans on food stamps. Now...Record 46 Million Americans on Food Stamps

What is more pathetic is that anyone who heard that broadcast believes it.

Anyone listening to the First Lady on a hip hop station has a high likelihood of being unemployed and/or on food stamps and is not experiencing any kind of recovery. They are probably more concerned about Mitt Romney taking away their food stamps and "Obamaphone" rather than having a belief he will get them a job.

Whatever she has to say about a HUGE recovery is a gag to them.

The size of your recovery depends on the economy you are given.

In an economy losing 770,000 jobs a month, five quarters of negative GDP, Stock Market losing 7000 points......just getting back to zero is a major accomplishment

Having 14 straight postive quarters of GDP, doubling the Stock Market, adding 3.5 million jobs, saving the banks and auto companies........given the economy he was handed
