And just how many years to they expect it to take? And will that even scratch the surface of military spending – or mis-spending?

The Pentagon has never wanted this. There are too many people their with cushy jobs making too much money. If the audit is thorough and complete I would expect it to take a year. If the results of the audit are made public the population will expect answers to a lot of questions.

In other news today the undersecretary of defense has said the pentagon will fight again to cut pay and benefits and retirement benefits, and reform Tricare. We know what reform Tricare means. The pentagon should all take pay cuts before they screw with the rest of it.

A congressional act in 1948 insured that the budget of the CIA would be secret. There aren't many secrets left since a couple of high profile traitors defected and since 1948 the CIA ain't the biggest dog in the pound. Why not audit the Agency as well?
