Fired for Facebook comment

The station is prejudice against women with short hair....:doubt:

She should be able to get her personnel file and have legal counsel look at the situation.

The policy of the Station is that you do not respond to these type of comments but refer them to a certain manager at the Station. Did any of you actually watch the Video, it is clearly explained.

Yeah they said that, while the employee also said that that policy, if it exists at all, isn't written down anywhere, so somebody's acting on some very shaky ground here. Probably both parties are.

If that is the policy the station should have no problem showing they explained it to her.

You right-wing Nutter's think unions are a gift from the devil, but THIS is an example of what you get when the workers have no input or control over their employment.

Without a union working conditions stipulation, you work solely and exclusively at the discretion of the boss. In other words, they can fire you for any reason, or no reason at all, and there's not a damn thing anybody can do about it. Don't like it? Tough shit.

Get used to it. This is your future if the GOP ever gets its way.

What makes you think she is not a member of a union?

Does it matter? It could be company policy not to engage someone on the Stations FB account. Who knows.

I think that is why they went after her. Not her own FB account. Can you imagine how out of hand it might get if on-air employees replied to all the ignorant comments viewers might make about them?

Someone wanna "splain" to me just what the hell is going on with that mess on top of MSNBC's
Melissa Harris Perry's head.

The vid wouldn't play for me but employers can fire for any reason and for no reason and the employee has no recourse. The employer can ruin a person's life and that person has no recourse.

How many times have you heard of a situation and said or thought, "disgruntled ex-employee" and you never hear another word about the employee's side.

The kochs will win against the working class but if the R wasn't so deep up the koch's rear ends, this actually could have resulted in a compromise with collective bargaining for the employee.

As it is, the GObP/R has been very successful at getting us all at each other's throats and its the 1% who will win while the rest of us shake our heads and wonder WTF happened while we were busy screaming at each other.
