Finally!! I did it ...finally..

We use Panda at work...rated high and unobtrusive. Really have no idea it is there except when it tells you it updated while you slept.

I currently use Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Pretty good for business, but does not offer mobile solutions for company phones. Also quite expensive.
Good for home use, as well. I use it because of the firewall that does what I want. It has also no licensing nonsense.

It has been a few years, I remember it being extremely configurable. If it is like the biz edition I would feel pretty safe to leave a child unattended with endpoint blocking unwanted sites. It was really good at that on the biz side.

It is. It lacks other solutions´ obtrusiveness and being protected promises, therefore it protects indeed.
I am using only the firewall, blocking every traffic but that of certain applications like the browser. So, in the case I get malware, my PC will probably not infect others. But despite all the stuff I downloaded in the past, I never got a virus or other malware. I download in intervals and check all related files with virustotal.com. I reject a file, if too many av-tools report the same malware in it - even if I am sure, there is nothing. I also copy keys from keygens and remove the keygens then. After the session, that can take several days, I keep only save files and format c:
