If an elected official's personal life interferes with their job, then they should step down. If it doesn't, then there is no reason for them to give their job up.
I most certainly do not believe that married people should cheat. But it is a reality in the world we are living in. I don't want to lose an elected official that is doing a good job over their infidelity. Personally, I don't even want to know about it. It serves no purpose.

It looks like it's you and your buds are doing all the judging here. I've watched Souder over the years since he was elected in 94 and he did none of what you are now doing, seemingly with perverse pleasure, because he is GOP and that's all you need to know.

It actually wouldn't surprise me much at all, and I suspect that many marriages in D.C. are more partnerships than marriages.

In the poisonous environment of Washington, D.C., any personal failing is seized upon and twisted for political gain. I am resigning rather than put my family through a painful, drawn-out process.
