Fraud, lies, misrepresentation. All these things are characteristics of white collar crime - and the perpetrators often receive a slap on the wrist.

Well, one of them is finally going to do some hard time.

His crime: mislabelling donuts as health food.

I feel so much better now that he is not pushing his contraband pastries.

Robert Ligon is scheduled to surrender to federal authorities today to begin serving a 15-month prison sentence.

Ligon didn't rob a bank, stage a kidnapping or distribute drugs. He mislabeled pastry.

He was convicted of buying doughnuts from a Chicago bakery, then relabeling them as diet food and selling them at a hefty markup.

Ligon's "carob coated" doughnuts purportedly had 135 calories and 3 grams of fat. In reality, they were glazed with chocolate, had 530 calories and 18 grams of fat.

Prosecutors say he committed a similar fraud with cinnamon buns.

How stupid of him. He should've bilked his investors out of a few million on top of this. He would've gotten probation then.
