When the dust settles, Republicans will have 9 more Senate seats than they did before the election.

There will be 54 Republicans and 46 Democrats and other leftists in the Senate.

The news stations are all pointing to 7 Republican pickups. They are not mentioning Alaska, where the Republican Senate candidate is ahead by 4 percent with 100% of the vote accounted for - clearly the Republicans have won that seat too.

And they are not mentioning Louisiana, where Democrat Landrieux has 42 percent, and the two Republican candidates have 41 and 14 percent respectively. Louisiana election rules call for a runoff when no candidates exceed 50%, between the top two vote-getters. It's likely that the votes for the third-place Republican will then go mostly to the other Republican, giving him a comfortable margin over Landrieux in the runoff. Clearly the Republicans will win that seat, too.

54 Republicans and 46 leftists in the Senate.

Turn out the lights, Democrats, the party's over...... :D

No, both Parties are going to have to go to work to fix the problems with the govt, economy and partisan politics wasting resources while debts pile up.

It's get to work time, for everyone, rolling up the sleeves and getting the job done.

We've only just begun....
