There are a lot of abuses that go on by the police. The Internet is chock full of them. If you're going to cede your rights over to an authority then you can expect to lose them.

If this makes people think more about their Constitutionally Protected Rights, then I'm all for it. If it just makes them dependent on someone else to interpret their rights for them, well then that leaves them open to manipulation.

Cops today aren't Sheriff Andy Taylor types interested in protecting you and your rights. A lot of them are only interested in being Thugs with a Badge and Gun.
