It's still just wrong to make people pay a penalty for not having insurance.
Why not just allow them to put it in an HSA ?
This is just wrong.
This is why we need government to hand out condoms to 14 year olds, so we don't end up paying for their aids treatment.
Guys... this is socialism. This how it works. Sometimes socialists overtly attempt to force social change. But most of the time, it works like this. Every time we want the government to hand out more free stuff, the more government naturally needs to control our lives to reduce those costs.
Socialism naturally moves towards authoritarianism.

Well of course. Government by it's nature is inherently authoritarian. The only difference now, is that the public is the one demanding they themselves be punished.
It's part of the public demanding someone else be punished.
I wonder how many of the working poor are going to hail their affirmative action failure for a president (who they voted for) when they file that sucker ?
