Fewer Americans born in the U.S. have jobs now than were employed to November 2007

The beauty of all the states and the federal government's push to raise the minimum wage is that it is causing a boom in the robotics industry. Even those companies who manufacture self-checkout equipment are seeing a boom in sales. Walmart and Home Depot among others are going more and more toward self checkout in lieu of hiring and employing humans on their cash registers. Walmarrt, Home Depot, and others are also requiring their vendors to stock their own goods within their stores cutting the numbers of employees previously required to perform stocking chores. Robots are being utilized more than ever before in warehouses to move stock around. Even some fast food businesses are exploring ways to automate. Those folks at the lowest end of the economic rung because of education and training will see their prospects of employment even further diminished because of these demands for higher wages for the unskilled.

The computers that scan prices and sum totals are literally smarter than most of the human beings that are presently doing the job.

It's not even close.

I can't remember the last time I used a person to check out at Home Depot. Why would I subject myself to watching an idiot do something slower than I can do it?

There Were 1.9 Persons Per Job Opening in October 2014 The Economic Populist

Job Openings and Labor Turnover Summary

Table 1. Job openings levels and rates by industry and region seasonally adjusted

There are 4.8 million jobs available. That works out to something like 1.9 persons per job. Not very competitive. Just 1.9 persons per job.

So, why the amount of unemployment? Republicans want to blame it on Obama.

And read the comments under the videos. Bullshit like I know someone who never finished high school and makes four times what college graduates make. Dumbass right wingers. Always saying the must ridiculous bullshit and expecting normal people to believe it.

This is why business wants immigrants. Why Red State governors go to Blue States looking for competent workers. Right wingers can't make it running on stupid. The only thing they have is the vote. And every year that will count less as more people understand the value of education. Immigrants won't take Republican jobs because Republicans aren't qualified for those jobs to begin with. And things will never get better for them as long as they have this ridiculous notion the country depends on them.

How come when you talk you always sound stupid?

Because you come from the Bizarro world? That would be my best guess.

ROFLMNAO! this reminds me of a debate I had with a jackass just like the above cited contributor, who demanded that the movie: "The Idiocracy" was a projection into the inevitability of Conservatism.

The Movie:

Reality:

This is why education is so damned important. The number one solution to the many problems our country faces is more effective and better targeted education. The irony is that both major parties advocate for some very bad "solutions." Really, the misguided approaches of both are a reflection of the failing values of the American people which have been leading our education system astray for years.

This is JUST SAD OUR government has helped in creating this. Business are being strangled with regulations on top of regulations. taxes on top of taxes, fines, etc.... the EPA has choked business, We are stopping progress for grouse and frogs, etc and here we are...I'm at the end of my work years but I feel bad for the younger generation...

Oh please, it has nothing to do with regulations. It has everything to do with a failed education system, and a flawed immigration policy that is hostile to the citizenry. Incidentally, these kinds of immigration policies have been widely supported by the GOP, and I'm sure that if I had the time to go back and search I'd find threads where you personally have expressed strong favor for the same.

Really. Walmart just built a new store about a mile from me. They employ about two humans on the registers there. They have another six or eight self-checkout registers. It's working out great. For some time now McDonalds had had photos on their registers of the Big Mac, fries, and other menu items enabling the clerk to just poke a photo to charge your order. I foresee a menu screen that customers simply key the photo of what the want, pay for it via debit card, take their receipt and sit down until called forth to get their order. Might be they can design a conveyor belt style delivery system whereby the tray moves down a conveyor while robotics grabs a Big Mac, their fries, and dispenses their drink without the need for human intervention.

ROFL!
I love the "Both Parties" ruse...

But ya gotta give it to the Left... they infect the GOP with "Progressives", for obvious reasons, only ONE of which is that when the Republican Progs "Compromise" with themselves... the Left can then blame the GOP.

It's hysterical in every sense of the word.

In truth, Americans; which is to say Conservatives, advocate for education means, which are diametrically opposed to the idiocy the Left is touting, such as the re-canned "Outcome Based Education", which they've labeled: Common Core.

There's not a lot of mystery to education. It's not the psychologically complex hysteria that the Left likes to make it out to be... as most things are not.

Simply remove the gray and work on what remains... fundamentals of communication, mathematics, science and the objective history of the species.

Viable techniques for teaching these subjects are well known, they're time tested and they're truly not debatable. They work, each and every time they're applied.

Simply remove the Left from the equation and go to work.

Yep, you read right:

"Fewer Americans born in the U.S. have jobs now than were employed to November 2007, despite a working-age population growth of 11 million.

The amazing drop in employment highlights President Barack Obama’s slow recovery from the deep 2008 shock, but also spotlights many companies’ growing reliance on foreign migrant labor.

Almost one in every two jobs added since 2009 have gone to foreign-born workers.

In November 2014, one in every five U.S. jobs was held by a foreign-born worker, up from one-in-six jobs in January 2010, according to federal datahighlighted by the Center for Immigration Studies.

Since November 2007, the number of working legal and illegal migrants has risen by two million, from 23.1 million in November 2007 to 25.1 million in November 2014."

Fewer US-Born Americans Have Jobs Now Than in 2007 The Daily Caller

It's funny that the above uses the employment numbers from the PEAK of the 2000's expansion, BEFORE the recession even began.

ROFLMNAO! I wanted to get this down before the idiot could delete it...

Because it makes you look like an idiot, not that anyone needed any further confirmation.

Please review my comments a few posts ago. The ideas and attitudes from both sides (such as your comment here) are reflections the failed values that are strangling our education system.

oh shut up. I don't take anything you say serious you think you know it all.

No I don't. I just realize that the same trite arguments parroted by most people will not produce better results than the failures that have been had for so long by adhering to them already.

and you're BULLY on top of that.

Though it's clear that I know how to speak and write better than you. Maybe you would have benefited from an improved education system.

In any event you're operating on false assumptions. Your previous comment reflects an adherence to one of the biggest failings of our education system. It's true that college is not for everyone. One of the problems is that four years of college after 13 years of unfruitful education is required in our system for too many jobs.

Our entire system needs to be reformed so that lower education is refocused and offers more in the first place. If we reduced common education to the 8th grade and retooled high school to begin a focus on a technical skills we would be able to reap improved results where non college bound students would emerge with marketable skills that yield better pay, while improving the amount of Americans who enter into the kind of advanced level jobs that are currently being filled by imported foreigners.

ROFLMNAO!

There is NO PROBLEM is the US Education system, that would not be resolved the INSTANT the Left is removed from the Education equation.

To try and do anything which includes the Left, is a waste of time and money.

Nature will solve this problem... and all signs indicate that it is going to do so, very soon.
