Democrats who voted for their party's signature domestic achievement dropped like flies throughout the evening, adding credence to Republicans' claim that the American public wants them to repeal healthcare reform.
The law's proponents read the writing on the wall early on and acted quickly to pre-empt that impression.

"American voters’ focus during the elections was overwhelmingly on jobs and the economy, and this will remain the key public concern until the economy substantially improves," Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, said in a 10:30 p.m. statement. "As pre-election polls reflect, calls to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act are not supported by America’s voters — and they certainly were not the motivating factor in the elections."

The evening started pretty well for Democrats who voted for healthcare reform, with Rep. John Yarmuth of Kentucky handily winning reelection with 54.5 percent of the vote. Yarmuth's seat was listed as "likely Democratic" in the Nov. 1 edition of The Cook Political Report, one of 77 "yes" vote seats in play Tuesday evening.

Things quickly went downhill from there.

Within hours, a dozen members had lost reelection, including four freshmen elected in the 2008 Democratic wave: Reps. Tom Perriello and Glenn Nye of Virgina and Suzanne Kosmas and Alan Grayson of Florida.
They weren't alone: Democratic Reps. Baron Hill (Ind.), Carol Shea-Porter (N.H.) and Allen Boyd (Fla.) quickly joined them. So did Pennsylvania Reps. Kathy Dahlkemper, Chris Carney and Paul Kanjorski, all of whom were main targets of the anti-abortion-rights group the Susan B. Anthony List.

I warned ya libs! I warned ya in 2008 and I warned you after Obamacare passed.

I knew this was going to happen. I knew liberals were going to think they no longer had to hide their real agenda once they won in 2008. They thought the mask could come off and they could finally be the socialists they really are.

So, they did. They went full tilt European style socialism. They ignored the American people who protested, who sent emails and phonecalls saying they didn't like their agenda.

They ignored it all. They thought if they shoved it down our throat that we would finally reallize we were better off, as children being cared for by our Nanny Goverment.

But something happened last night. The American people did NOT love the bill as much as Pelosi said we would once it was passed.

We did NOT just back down and decide there was nothing we could do about it. We DID do something about it and now Dear Nancy is out of a job!

This is a good day!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I wonder how many Dems will jump on board if they really do try to recind this bill??

I think there were a lot of Dems who were forced by Pelosi and Reid to pass the thing. Of course Ol'BO can veto.

Wonder if they could get a 2/3rds majority to override a veto??

Food for thought.

You didn't complain when you got Medicaid all those years. Are you still on Medicaid?

FEW Democrats survived it? Looks to me like 51 Democrats still in the Senate and 190 give or take in the House...

...how does that translate into FEW surviving it? Looks like MOST survived it.

Why start a thread that's a lie?

I think that's a distinct possibility. I mean, there were Democrat that were strong armed into voting for healthcare. NOW they know that Obamacare is the kiss of death, I think you are going to see some Dems that are willing to join the GOP in voting to repeal. They want to keep their jobs! ;)

Um, I've never been on Medicaid, Carbiner. I've always paid for my healthcare, even when my job didn't provide insurance (in the 80s), I paid for my healthcare out of pocket.

I'm not for leaching off the system.

I was raised that way. When my dad lost his job in the 70s, and we lost almost everything, it got to the point that all we had to eat was popcorn I'm serious, popcorn! But we never took a dime. We watched the furniture go bye bye as we sold it, we sat on the floor and we ate popcorn.

But we made it through, and we came back stronger. I wasn't raised to take the money of others during hard times.

That's the difference between me and you Carbiner.

You think the country owes you something.

I think I owe the country something. ;)

It's not a lie Carbiner! Democrats lost seats in the Senate, they didn't gain. Republicans gained seats.

They didn't take the Senate, but the rest of them know their job is in jeopardy if they continue to side with Obama.

As for the House, that was HISTORIC!

The only lies today are coming out of liberals trying to spin this as nothing short than a MAJOR repudiation of Obama's policies.

But sputter and spin all you want!

Rescind the bill won't happen anytime soon! Presidential vetos and Senate Majority guarantee that!

I think it's possible (not guarranteed but entirely possible) we could get Democrats to side with us on a repeal.

I mean, I don't care how Democrats spin they held the house, they HAVE to be running scared right now. They have to know their jobs are in the balance. They aren't going to be so ready to believe Obama that siding with him will keep their majority.

Remember, it was Democrat majority that voted down Hillarycare. ;)

How many Senators stood for election yesterday?

435 House members stood for election.

How many were Democrats?

Here's a better question.

How many Democrat House members who voted AGAINST the healthcare bill won re-election.

I'll have that later unless someone already has it.

You, and the daft cow who started the thread might be a bit surprised.

And I warned YOU, twit. NO gloating, dipshit. Last I checked, your little "tea party" didn't exactly start a revolution.

You're as done as this thread if you don't zip it, NOW.
