True or not I cannot say, but my understanding was that Feinstein sat on the Ford allegations for whatever reason, and it was someone else or others who cajoled her into releasing them when she did. Whether she didn't feel them worth releasing, or was going to just hold them a bit longer I do not know. Bottom line, they are out there now, she is not anonymous anymore, and now has a lot of BIG questions to answer under the limelight.

THE REAL QUESTION IS: if she is willing to put herself through ALL OF THIS NOW, why didn't she report the alleged incident back in 1982?

THE LESSER QUESTION: We forgive a criminal his even heinous crimes for time served; HOW LONG a time must pass before a reckless act of youth is ever forgiven?

She leaked the letter and Ford's name as a last ditch effort and desperate move to stop Brett Kavanaugh's appointment to SCOTUS.
