Federal Judge Blocks Obama Drilling Moratorium

The judge did make the right decision. A lot of people in Louisiana including myself and other family members invest in onshore and offshore drilling and small up and coming oilfield tool services companies that are really the bread and butter of the industry that keep the rigs running. Some of these companies are public and anyone can invest in them, even Judges.

50,000 wells drilled in the Gulf of Mexico and this is the only significant leak/spill and left wing idiots want to stop drilling. What a bunch of dumbasses!

They will fly to a protest (which burns about 50x co2 as driving) and step over a homeless person to spit on a oil worker. Anti oil is a huge anchor for the dems.

Federal Gov't Halts Sand Berm Dredging - New Orleans News Story - WDSU New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS -- The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.

The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

Nungesser said the government has asked crews to move the dredging site two more miles farther off the coastline.

"Once again, our government resource agencies, which are intended to protect us, are now leaving us vulnerable to the destruction of our coastline and marshes by the impending oil," Nungesser wrote to Obama. "Furthermore, with the threat of hurricanes or tropical storms, we are being put at an increased risk for devastation to our area from the intrusion of oil.

More details in article, but boy we have more incompetence from the POTUS and lackeys.

Yesterday on the Jason Lewis show, Lewis exposed the commission to study this disaster and moratorium as packed with econazi supporting anti-oil drilling fanatic professors. I mean come on... former board members of the WWF on the board too? How do you THINK they're going to find? Not a single oil industry expert which I would expect if this was not a kangaroo court designed to kill the oil industry in this nation.

The left would be spitting nails if it was packed with oil execs, but this... nary a peep.

They were told to move the dredging elsewhere, they are not being told they cannot dredge or build the berms.

Jindall will meltdown about this for days instead of just dredging elsewhere.

It's getting hard to believe these idiots. And harder to believe so many in here still making excuses for it.

And why are they being told to dredge elsewhere? To protect the environment! Armageddon in an oil can is bearing down on them, and they worry about a thin strip that may minimize acres if not miles of damage. Their sense of priority and propriety is all out of whack. 7 days to reset up and what kind of damage will this have? Will it render the whole operation moot? Could.

Micromanagement once again from on high destroys another community and nature.

You don't protect the environment by destroying the environment. IIRC, they were told not to dredge there to begin with.

Incompetence? Hardly. It's on purpose. It's by Design. He's taking this nation down and this is another avenue for him to get his way.

Moving dredging equipment means lost time. Apparently someone thought the location was pretty important and that is why they were dredging where they were.

Why dredge elsewhere when the dredging is needed where they will be most effective? Do you have any concept of dredging? Especially when it pertains to utilizing the dredged material.

That is another 7 days wasted, not that it should matter to you. What is the reason for the relocation??? Is it justified??? One obstruction after another.

Why should such reason or detail matter to an administrator???

May the Bureaucracy live on for ever!!!

They should be dredging where ever they need to. The beach and marshland and the environmentwould suffer lots less with dredging than with oil.

Common sense. OH wait. I forgot. The idiots in charge ain't got any. Jeeze.

What I'm starting to notice is that the apologists for the regime are not questioning a few critical points.

Cost/Benefit: Okay, an operation must be stopped because of x. Why? Is the stoppage to fix an envisioned problem worth the delay in time as well as money spent waiting (cause money is being spent still) and will the correction be an improvement.

Delay=Damage: Every second a protective system is stopped, the damage to the environment increases. Some places, it's too late already. Others, there's still time IF they keep moving. But every time the government ham handedly shuts down an operation to 'correct' something, damage increases because the defenses are not ready or being continued.

So why are these things being ignored by apologists?

Had they had those barriers pre Katrina i think a catastrophe would have been avoided.
