Federal illegal alien sweep nets 3000 criminals in 7 days!

After months of complaints from immigrant advocates, the Obama administration promised in August that immigration authorities would start focusing their scarce resources on finding and deporting serious criminals, and largely leave alone immigrants whose only offense was crossing the border illegally.

How many countries let people who are there illegally dictate immigration policy?

They should let all Americans adults and juveniles who committed misdemeanors and level one felonies off the hook too. Let's go back 20 years and expunge their records and let them go scot-free. What's good for the goose is good for the gander!

Identity theft is a felony!

ICE officials said just six of those arrested had no record at all, and they sought to play up the serious nature of the offenses of those who were apprehended.

Those arrested included a Guatemalan man with ties to a Los Angeles gang who had committed first-degree robbery, a Mexican man convicted of lewd acts with a child and a Mexican man with a rape conviction.

Of the 286 people arrested, 63 had previously been deported. At least 17 face prosecution for re-entering the country without proper documents.

Of those arrested in Northern California, 126 had prior convictions for serious felonies, including aggravated assault, child abuse and drug trafficking, according to ICE.

At least 11 of those arrested during the operation face possible prosecution by the U.S. Attorney on charges that include illegal re-entry after deportation -- a felony with a penalty of up to 20 years in prison -- because of their serious criminal histories and prior immigration arrest records.

A 37-year-old Mexican national living in Daly City was among those arrested. The man had past convictions for selling cocaine, assault to commit rape and failing to register as a sex offender, according to ICE.
Officers also arrested five documented gang members and 32 immigration fugitives in Northern California.

The majority of the Northern California arrests occurred in Santa Clara County, where 35 convicted criminal aliens were arrested. Agents arrested 23 aliens in Alameda County.
Wow. Seems that somebody opened the prison doors south of the border and dumped them north of the border. :(
