Liberal Socialist Paradise
Bush Was Right

by The Right Brothers

Freedom in Afghanistan, say goodbye Taliban
Free elections in Iraq, Saddam Hussein locked up
Osama's staying underground, Al Qaida now is finding out
America won't turn and run once the fighting has begun
Libya turns over nukes, Lebanese want freedom, too
Syria is forced to leave, don't you know that all this means

Bush was right!
Bush was right!
Bush was right!

Democracy is on the way, hitting like a tidal wave
All over the middle east, dictators walk with shaky knees
Don't know what they're gonna do, their worst nightmare is coming true
They fear the domino effect, they're all wondering who's next

Bush was right!
Bush was right!
Bush was right!

Ted Kennedy - wrong!
Cindy Sheehan - wrong!
France - WRONG!
Zell Miller - right!

Economy is on the rise kicking into overdrive
Angry liberals can't believe it's cause of W's policies
Unemployment's staying down, Democrats are wondering how
Revenue is going up, can you say "Tax Cuts"

Bush was right!
Bush was right!
Bush was right!

Cheney was right, Condi was right,
Rummy was right, Blair was right
You were right, We were right, "The Right" was right
and Bush was right...
Bush was right!
Bush was right!

According to rumor, an anti-Bush song.. I haven't bothered to verify since I don't care. Good music is good music. :)

Ani Di Franco is good for political songs.

Disturbed are pansies :)

How about:

How this thread got to be 45 minutes old without Echo posting 17 Neil Young songs is quite remarkable.

Or she could just be busy elsewhere I suppose. :D

And yet...just when you think you're safe, there they'll be... :eusa_whistle:

Marat/Sade Free MP3, Song Download, Lyrics - Judy Collins - In My Life

I can only find a fragment of my favorite political song on line

Judy does a smashing job of singing this song if you can find the album "In my life" which is, incidently, her best album.

Here's the lyrics, as best as I can transcribe them from memory

HOMAGE TO MARAT
From "Marat Sade"

Four years after the revolution and the old king's execution
Four years after I remember how those courtiers took their final bow:

String up every aristocrat!
Out with the priests and let them live on their fat!

Four years after we started fighting
Marat keeps on with his writing
Four years after the Bastille fell
He still recalls that old battle yell:

Down with all of the ruling class!
Throw all the generals out on their arse!

Good old Marat by your side we'll stand or fall
You're the only one that we can trust at all

Four years he fought
and he fought unafraid
Sniffing down traitors
by traitors betrayed.
Marat in the courtroom
Marat underground
Sometimes the otter
and sometimes the hound.
Fighting all the gentry
and fighting every priest
Businessman the bourgeois,
the military beast.
Marat always ready
to stifle every scheme
of the sons of the arse licking dying regime.

We've got new generals
our leaders are new.
They sit and they argue
and all that they do
Is sell their own colleagues
and ride upon their backs
And jail them
and break them
and give them all the axe

Screaming in language that no one understands
Of the rights that we grabbed with our own bleeding hands
When we wiped out the bosses and stormed through the wall
Of the prison they told us would outlast us all

Marat we're poor
And the poor stay poor.
Marat don't make us wait anymore
We want our rights, and we don't care how
We want our revolution
NOW.

Why do they have the gold?
Why do they have the power?
Why why why why why...
Do they have the friends at the top?
Why do they have the jobs at the top?

We've got nothing.
Always had nothing
Nothing but holes
and millions of them.
Living in holes
dying in holes
holes in our bellies
and holes in our clothes

Marat we're poor
And the poor stay poor
Marat don't make us wait anymore
We want our rights, and we don't care how.
We want our revolution....
NOW.

Poor old Marat they hunt you down
The bloodhounds are sniffing all over the town
Just yesterday, they smashed your press
And now they're asking your friends..
your home address

Poor old Marat in you we trust
You work till your eyes are as red as rust
Poor old Marat
in you..
we..
trust.

washington bullets by the clash........

Oh! Mama, Mama look there!
Your children are playing in that street again
Don't you know what happened down there?
A youth of fourteen got shot down there
The Kokane guns of Jamdown Town
The killing clowns, the blood money men
Are shooting those Washington bullets again

As every cell in Chile will tell
The cries of the tortured men
Remember Allende, and the days before,
Before the army came
Please remember Victor Jara,
In the Santiago Stadium,
Es verdad - those Washington Bullets again

And in the Bay of Pigs in 1961,
Havana fought the playboy in the Cuban sun,
For Castro is a colour,
Is a redder than red,
Those Washington bullets want Castro dead
For Castro is the colour...
...That will earn you a spray of lead

Sandinista!

For the very first time ever,
When they had a revolution in Nicaragua,
There was no interference from America
Human rights in America

Well the people fought the leader,
And up he flew...
With no Washington bullets what else could he do?
Sandinista!

'N' if you can find a Afghan rebel
That the Moscow bullets missed
Ask him what he thinks of voting Communist...
...Ask the Dalai Lama in the hills of Tibet,
How many monks did the Chinese get?
In a war-torn swamp stop any mercenary,
'N' check the British bullets in his armoury
Que?
Sandinista!
