Werewolves circa "An American Werewolf in London" although "Underworld" had some good ones. Other then that HR Giger's Alien from the first and third installments. Most Japanese animation has really nifty monsters as well.

"An American Werewolf In London" had hands-down the best transformation scene EVA. And it was funny as shit. I like a horror movie with a "theme"; sexy, funny, socially conscious, whatever. Makes for great dialogue IMO.

Kathy Bates was brilliant in that movie. I love it. But alas, there is no monster (strictly speaking).
