The gentleman who plays the sheriff in this movie (his only acting bit) was named Ed Reed and a very, very good friend of mine. His wife said it took five takes for him to be able to say, "...if it'll make that woman happy, I'll take it." She also told me he only told her he loved her once, and that was when he proposed. He said, "That's right. I figured if I ever changed my mind I'd let you know." He was sensitive that way.
