Hans Zimmer's INCEPTION
Who can forget Howard Shore's most rousing Lord of the Rings music?
the whole Conan the Barbarian soundtrack.........
More of Howard Shore's rousing Hobbit/LOTR themes:
No matter how bad/good a Shyamalan movie might be, the James Newton-Howard score will always be highly ambitious.
Of course! That was one lush, intricate, very fierce score. Which hit so many emotional moments I can't even keep track of them all.
Pretty much anything by Danny Elfman.
From the '03-'09 series on SciFi, Battlestar Gallactica. The original of this in the 70's-80's was so cheesy that when this new series started in '03 I didn't watch it once. Then I watched an episode starting in season three and I think the new series is among the best content ever put on television. Superbly done and the music just puts it over the top.If you haven't seen it get thee to a BluRay or DVD outlet. Watching these battle scenes either with headphones on or a good sound system turned up is an experience.
I'll drink to that; Elfman's superhero themes sound like the whole symphony is at utter musical war!
Now that someone mentioned Basil Poledouris Conan the Barbarian, here's another Poledouris score that's fun because it's so trippy-playful-sounding.
