John
Paul
George or
Ringo

Favorite Song?

Hubby likes Harrison.... I was not happy about how Lennon treated Julian.. I love Julian.. :(

When my jugband went to perform Beatle albums and everybody took a part, I naturally gravitated to the Harrison material, which is where I most identify temperamentally. Except for "Piggies" -- I wanted nothing to do with that one.

They all have their unique talents. Lennon for his wordplay and supreme sense of satire ... McCartney for his bottomless well of melody (too bad he can't write lyrics).... Harrison for his mysticism, deep thought and sense of humour... Ringo for being a frickin' goofball....

BTW yesterday would have been John Lennon's 75th birthday.
Can you imagine....

I like Lennon's work..
as a person, I don't know.. I'm not arrogant enough to say I know any of them as people, but, loved Lennon's song.. McCartney... soft porn at best....

I do envy McCartney's vocal range, having tried to actually sing in the same key. And that incessant fount of melody.
Lennon was the most romantic. And his are the songs with all the cool harmonies.

I just HATE McCartney.. not sure why...?

Insatiable egotism? I smell ya, sis. Gotta admit though, he does have a way with composition. And plays a lot of instruments.
He's a workaholic.

Maybe I'm amazed is one of my favorite songs, but agreed, he annoys me most of the time.

Hubby liked George Harrison... I am a Lennon fan.
Love Julian.........

I can't remember where I heard it, but someone was once asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world. He replied, "Ringo wasn't the best drummer in the Beatles."

Somebody's keeping a talent secret then.

One of my favourite Beatle trivia questions: in all the recorded/released material (including the Anthology) there are four drummers: Ringo, Pete Best, Andy White and who? (Answer: McCartney)

PM is the drummer on "Ballad of John and Yoko" as well as the first two White Album tracks, "Back in the USSR" and "Dear Prudence" (when Ringo had had enough and split). Listening to any of those makes it clear that, as a drummer he's a very good bassist.

George.

HIs death prevented a reunion tour

Umm... Lennon was already dead two decades by then. Harrison even wrote (rewrote) a song about him at the time.

The time I heard that story was the first time I heard McCartney was a very talented drummer. I wish I could remember who said that. I think it was the comedian Jim Jefferies who said the story once, but I can't remember who he was talking about. It was obviously someone influential, or they never would have asked the question.

John was an asshole jerk, but, musical genius....
