your dreams
I often wonder about this when it comes to administrations that are particularly polarizing. This one and the last one especially.

It seems to me that opponents of Obama desperately want to see him fail, to have our country fall deeper into recession/depression, and lose ground in the middle east (the higher the US military death toll the better), all for the sake of acquiring political advantage entering into the next election cycle. And conversely, I saw the exact same sentiment spewing from the other side of the aisle during the Bush administration.

As much as this disgusts me, sentiment is one thing, actively trying to make it happen is another. So please consider and discuss the following:

1. Do you think that people in positions of real influence do indeed, actively try to sabotage and undermine the efforts of the current administration to the detriment of all Americans purely for political purposes?

and if so...

2. Who are they and what specifically do you think they do in their efforts to sabotage?

:eusa_think:

Wow, so now this is something new, they WANT the Obama to FAIL.

as we saw all during the Bush administration, the lefties, Progressive, commies all wanted BUSH TO SUCCESSEED I guess. the anti-war protesters is a start. if they were REALLY anti-war, where are they TODAY?

and of course it WASN'T for any political advantage, oh no. it was to save the country from the EVIL Bush.

Democrats-progressive-liberals are definitely people who put PARTY OVER COUNTRY.

Wow, so now this is something new, they WANT the Obama to FAIL.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to imply that ALL opponents of Obama want him to fail.

However, based on the vitriol I've seen oozing from your posts, I'd definitely include you among those that do.

Just sayin...

1) Yes I do and I find that to be abhorrent behavior. Do I want Obama's policy initiatives such as health care, cap and trade, not suspending the jones act to clean up the oil, trying to ban all drilling, ruining our alliance with england/israel, and bailing out big corporations with tax money to fail? Well of coarse I do. If those policies fail I feel it will be for the betterment of america. If those policies succeed I feel it will hurt my country and my fellow citizens.

2) Im not sure of any one in particular person that is doing this in order to "hurt america". Do you have anyone who you feel is doing this? maybe if you share one person it will give me a direction to put my thinking towards for you.

I dont want my president or my country to fail. I just want his fundamentally tranforming america policies to not be implimented.

say whatever you like, I definitely want the OBAMA'S and his comrades in Arms policies to FAIL. If I wanted to live in a Socialist-Communist country, I'd move to one.

Ok, let's take the economy for example. How would you feel if in the next two years our economy rebounded so strongly that Obama's re-election was all but assured? Would you rather see that happen or would your rather we continue to languish and sputter for the next two years just to ensure that he doesn't get re-elected? And taking that a step further, do you think there may be very wealthy people, whose investment decisions can help make or break any recovery, might be actively trying to break it?

I would be very happy if the economy rebounded strongly, even if it meant 4 more years of Obama (as long as he doesn't have an absence of checks and balances like the congressional supermajorities give him now)

I would rather see the economy go back to the non-bailout mode of 5% unemployment than see obama not get re-elected.

Yes just look at George Sorros and look at the Apollo alliance...those are examples of a rich and influential person and a rich and influential organization that are trying to break our longstanding government system. Unfortunately we let the apollo alliance write up these 2000 page bills that keep getting passed so they are well on their way to succeeding in their attempts to break the system.

Would you mind giving me one example from your number 2 in the original post? "2. Who are they and what specifically do you think they do in their efforts to sabotage?"

Good post.

I'd have to agree with the answer to question #1.

For Question #2, I would say, if it carries an (R) after its name, it fits the bill, some, however, in varying degrees. What do they do? To start with, they lie and manipulate the voters. "This is Obama's war". They refuse to work alongside the Democrats to improve the policies of this nation. They refuse to work towards cutting spending. They lay all the blame on the Democrats yet accept none of the blame themselves, despite the fact, that they had their opportunities to deal with these problems in the recent past.

The Dems were no different and they are no different today. They to refuse to work alongside Republicans. They lay the blame at the feet of the Republicans yet they do nothing to better America, in fact, they have driven some stakes deeply into its heart recently and are doing their damnedest to drive more in.

Party over Country is the norm in Washington... don't expect things to change any times soon if at all.

Immie

What do you expect from people who defend a party that has worked for decades to keep legal Anmerican voters from voting to win elections.

The Republican party cheats and these people defend the cheating.

wishing ain't gettin. obie wan is a big fat fail, not to mention a big fat clusterfuck. I am embarassed for us.

Omg.

There is a long well documented history of the republican party cheating in elections.

The only way we're going to get America back on track is to vote out all politicans and put some credited business people in charge.

Yeah like the Walmart family and Enron ceos or maybe BP and UBS employees like Phil gramm

I don't know of anyone who opposed the Afghan war during Bush who now supports it just because Obama is president.

Can you list ALL those people?
