In the absence of the video, I'll share what I taught each of my three children.

1) Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
2) Keep the gun you are handling pointed in a safe direction (preferably downrange).
3) Don't put your finger inside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire.
4) Do not fire until you are sure of your target.

No matter who I'm with at the range, I always make sure we have such a safety briefing before each shoot,
followed by a few immense bong hits.
