COPENHAGEN, (PIC)-- Mohammed Al-Farra, the mayor of Khan Younis in Gaza Strip, has said that a big number of partisan leaders in Europe have acknowledged the "big mistake" of not having dialog with Hamas after winning the parliamentary elections in 2006.

Farra, in a press statement on his arrival in the Danish capital at the outset of a European tour, said that those leaders acknowledged that they acted against their democratic convictions when they did not consent to having dialog with Hamas that formed the Palestinian government after the elections.

He also pointed out that there was a big change in the European street in favor of the Palestine cause and in favor of lifting the siege on Gaza.

He told of a story relayed by a Swedish activist and member of parliament as a proof, saying that the mother of that MP was against his solidarity activity but when the Israeli forces attacked the Freedom Flotilla she called him while crying and told him that she wanted to finance the next ship to Gaza and was ready to purchase construction material.
