Family That Owns Walmart Makes $100 million a day

It is cheaper to open up more self-checkout lanes while having just a few clerks watching the lanes.

Today systems are faster and most stuff can be scanned and if not you can look it up by product on the device.

As for carts then that is something that should be kept up to date and maintained daily.

I have gotten to the point I just self-checkout and get out before someone come in with the idea to take a shot at me...

Myself, my wife and my kids have made self-checkout our first choice too. Even when the place is busy you don't wait as long for checkout as you do in the regular lines (at least in our Walmart).

Sometimes at HEB ( Local Texas Store ) I will go to the cashier because I know them but at Wal-Mart I use the self checkout because it is so much faster like you said...

I am getting use to the online app, so even faster then before...

Sam Walton knew what he was doing when he made Wal-Mart.

His family is reaping the rewards. Good for them.

As being pointed out there is self checkout for you to check your own items out or order online and pick it up...

Wow, no more bad carts or no cashiers to wait on you and let be really honest those cashiers suck!

Also as I wrote Security for not being shot is your problem and not mine!

Now if you have any issue you could move to those countries that you listed because it seem you want to demand people to spend their money how you wish and that is not the American way...
Looks like you don't get too many things right. 1. In the 2 WalMarts I shop in, self check outs only change the WAY you check out, they don't change the speed at which you can exit the store. They have their own long lines, quite often.

2. I see nothing wrong with cashiers in Walmart. Typically, unlike you, they are nice people, and it's not their fault there's not enough of them.

3. Lack of security is as much your problem as anyone else.

4. Those countries are for YOU, who doesn't like complaining.

5. The Waltons aren't just spending their money. They are determining the quality of how people shop in one of their main stores.

I won't give Walmart my trade. Haven't for years. They wrap up returned defective shit and sell it again. It's happened to me too many times. It's an hour to one of their stores, and I got sick and tired of having to drive back to return shit.
You don't have a closer store than that ?

They definitely should invest in opening more checkout lanes, and keeping up on their piece of shit shopping carts !

What would the ROI on that move be for Walmart and its shareholders?
It would be good feelings, and from that probably more sales$$$. In any case, if a store couldn't provide decent shopping carts, cashier lanes, and security, they shouldn't be in business, period. And WalMArt CAN do it.

In WalMarts, usually it's no faster at all. Sometimes slower.

You're the second poster who is more interested in how far it is to Walmart than in the FACT that over the years they sold me such a bunch of defective crap that I actually pay more for things somewhere else. At least when I get it home it will probably work. Or all parts will be included, or whatever.

ROFLMAO!

Where did you come up with that load of horseshit? The Porky Pig School of Business?

I made no comparison. I have zero tolerance on defective merchaindise, which BTW, when we get stuff all MADE in USA again, product quality will come back. Keep those tariffs going, Mr Trump.

Read what?

Who cares what someone makes
Read THE OP. I wasn't talking about that. I care about bad shopping carts, missing security, and empty cashier lanes. How many times have I said this now in this thread ? 10 ? 15? 20 ? 30 ? Sheeesh!

So you it's good business to provide lousy service ? What school of business would teach that ?

Let's start with the fact that by all appearances you don't understand what the term ROI means and then go from there, K Porky?

... and yet you claim to be a "former business owner" and "economics professor", Thanks for the laughs.

I am a former business owner, a former college economics teacher, a believer in capitalism & private enterprise, but man, this is ridiculous. Talk about things "Gone Wild", this might take the cake.

The Waltons who own Walmart, are the wealthiest family in the world with a net worth of $190 Billion.

They are raking in $70K/minute...…………. $4 million/hour...……….$100 Million/day...……..

Wouldn't you think with all that money coming in, these money gobblers could >>>

  • provide us some decent shopping carts

  • have all their cashier lanes open (instead of less than half)

  • pay their employees a living wage

  • have a reasonable level of armed security guards

  • sell the stuff we want to buy (so we don't have to go online)

  • JEEEZ!
Oh, I can already hear my conservative pals saying >> yeah, but there are EXPENSES, that must be enormous. True, but that is somewhat, diffused by the impressive collection of vintage cars, of Rob Walton, including a $15 Million Daytona Coupe that he carelessly wrecked, running it off the road. Add to that Alice Walton's $500 Million art collection, and net worths of all these siblings of tens of Billions$$$$$$$$$$

The family that owns Walmart makes $100 million every day
^^^ A socialist who hates capitalism.
